Friends

Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

Saving Dollars Makes Me Holla!!

I love saving money and getting free stuff! This was a great week for me :) On Saturday I got all of this for $5 after using coupons and register rewards from Walgreens!
Today I got all of this for -56 cents. YUP! Walgreens paid ME to take this stuff out of the store!!!
The mailman also brought me a present today....my free make up bag with samples from Target. Did you get yours in the mail yet?
Today was Hank's favorite day of the month...the day when he gets his new bag of dog food poured into his bin. We are nice parents and let him eat out of the bin for a minute before putting the lid on :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

{one}
I am loving this cute idea that I saw on a blog. This looks easy and is adorable...perfect for co-workers or your kids classmates. It would also make awesome place cards for your Easter brunch.

{two}
Do you remember this movie? I loved it as a kid (still do!). I traded another DVD for this one on SwapaDVD.com.
If you haven't checked out this site, it is wonderful!!

{three}
I am reading this book and loving it! Have you read it before?
What did you think?

{four}
Ok, I wouldn't necessarily say that I am LOVING this movie.
Joe and I watched it on Sunday. It was good but a little slow....worth a Redbox $1 rental.

{five}
I am loving this baby room...perfect for a little boy!
Now it just needs some vintage globes and it will be perfect!

{six}
I have never been a big fan of wallpaper. Maybe it was growing up in the 80's that did it in for me with the big floral prints some people had. These, however, are divine! I love the way it looks!!
How cute is this little cubby built in for the bed and bookcase?!

{seven}
Tis a sad, sad day! My After-Party by Bed Head is all gone. I have been using the same bottle since at least 2001!! That means it was 10 years old!! Oh the memories associated with the smell!! Brings me back to college. This is a wonderful product and you really only need the tiniest bit....hence the reason I have been using it for 10 years!!
{eight}
I am LOVING these dresses. I am told that red is "my color". I need to have this dress!!

I haven't bought a maxi dress yet...I don't want to look like I am expecting. Plus, I'm short and I'm not sure this works for short people. I saw a girl at Target yesterday wearing this with gold strappy flat sandals, a jeans jacket and big earrings and it looked so cute. I may give it a whirl!

{nine}
Girls's Weekend is this weekend!! Yay!! I am loving that I get to see my friends, shop, and eat!!

What are you loving?

Happy Tuesday!!

It is located between Austin and San Antonio, TX (two cities I have never been to but have always wanted to visit). I smell a trip coming on. Have ya'll ever been to Sclitterbahn? What did you think?

**YUM!!! This was really good and I think pretty healthy. I will for sure make this again. Joe liked it too!

My student teacher gave me this recipe and it looks yummy!
**This was good but not great. It was a quick and easy dinner and I will probably make it again, but it didn't blow me out of the water.

Some Recent Things...

This is just a hodge-podge of things recently.
On St. Patrick's Day, we went out with Katelyn and Tyler.
Me and Joe :)
I have also done some fun things around the house. Last Saturday when I was coming back from the gym, I saw this beauty out in the front of an antique store. $50 later, it was mine!! The picture does not do it justice. It is a huge wrought iron piece that has chippy white paint on it. I'm guessing it came off a house or a building...I love it!
Joe hung up the antique stained glass window that we bought a few weeks ago above our bookcase.
Today I worked on a super fast project:

Before
After
I bought new jars from Target and put on the vinyl numbers that I ordered from Groopdealz a few weeks ago....I love the way it turned out! What do you think?

SMILE!!

Things a Burglar Won't Tell You!

13 THINGS YOUR BURGLAR WON'T TELL YOU

1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.

2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.

3.. Love those flowers. That tells me you have taste... and taste means there are nice things inside. Those yard toys your kids leave out always make me wonder what type of gaming system they have.

4. Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled up on the driveway. And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it.

5. If it snows while you're out of town, get a neighbor to create car and foot tracks into the house.. Virgin drifts in the driveway are a dead giveaway.

6. If decorative glass is part of your front entrance, don't let your alarm company install the control pad where I can see if it's set.

That makes it too easy.

7. A good security company alarms the window over the sink. And the windows on the second floor, which often access the master bedroom - and your jewelry. It's not a bad idea to put motion detectors up there too.

8. It's raining, you're fumbling with your umbrella, and you forget to lock your door - understandable. But understand this: I don't take a day off because of bad weather.

9. I always knock first. If you answer, I'll ask for directions somewhere or offer to clean your gutters. (Don't take me up on it.)

10. Do you really think I won't look in your sock drawer? I always check dresser drawers, the bedside table, and the medicine cabinet.

11. Here's a helpful hint: I almost never go into kids' rooms.

12. You're right: I won't have enough time to break into that safe where you keep your valuables. But if it's not bolted down, I'll take it with me.

13.. A loud TV or radio can be a better deterrent than the best alarm system. If

you're reluctant to leave your TV on while you're out of town, you can buy a $35 device that works on a timer and simulates the flickering glow of a real television. (Find it at http://www.faketv/.com/)

8 MORE THINGS A BURGLAR WON'T TELL YOU:

1. Sometimes, I carry a clipboard. Sometimes, I dress like a lawn guy and carry a rake. I do my best to never, ever look like a crook.

2. The two things I hate most: loud dogs and nosy neighbors.

3. I'll break a window to get in, even if it makes a little noise. If your neighbor hears one loud sound, he'll stop what he's doing and wait to hear it again. If he doesn't hear it again, he'll just go back to what he was doing. It's human nature.

4. I'm not complaining, but why would you pay all that money for a fancy alarm system and leave your house without setting it?

5. I love looking in your windows. I'm looking for signs that you're home, and for flat screen TVs or gaming systems I'd like. I'll drive or walk through your neighborhood at night, before you close the blinds, just to pick my targets.

6. Avoid announcing your vacation on your Facebook page. It's easier than you think to look up your address.

7. To you, leaving that window open just a crack during the day is a way to let in a little fresh air. To me, it's an invitation.

8. If you don't answer when I knock, I try the door. Occasionally, I hit the jackpot and walk right in.
