Let's talk about organizing. I'm pretty good at getting organized. Staying organized is another story. I have a bad habit about not putting things back where they go. One area that I wanted to get under control is my DVD storage.
Our collection of DVD's currently resides in this side table that we actually found on the side of the road in someones trash. Joe fixed it all up, replaced the hardware, etc. I love the drawers and it did a great job at holding DVD's but they were not organized and I could never find the one I wanted. I knew I wanted to do something different.
My little brother keeps all of his DVD's in a big binder and I always thought that it was a good idea. I didn't like the big binder that they used. I found these on amazon and loved them. I knew they would fit in perfectly with our decor.
I added them to my amazon.com wish list and my dad got them for me for my birthday. To say I was excited was an understatement. As soon as we got home, I put on my pajamas and pulled out all of the DVD's.
I started out by putting them in piles by their title. A's with A's, B's with B's, etc. Then I put each pile in alphabetical order. It took a little bit of time but I got it done. I wasn't sure what to do with all the cases. I hated to just throw them away, so I decided to pack them up in a big box.
I got all of our DVD's in 3 binders...with extra pages for new DVD's. I also decided to separate Sally's DVD's from ours. Time is of the essence with girlfriend wants to watch Princess and the Frog!
