Go Here: Pyro's Pizza

Last week Joe and I decided to check out the East Memphis location of Pyro's Pizza. It's located on Ridgeway right next to Stash and behind PF Changs. I had heard people talk about it and was very excited to check it out for myself. It was pretty busy when we got there.

Pyro's is a pretty simple concept...choose a pizza or salad, choose your sauces and then choose your toppings. An 11 inch pizza is $8.30. Joe and I each got our own.

Pyro's also offers t-shirts :)

There are some specialty pizzas and salads but we decided to build our own.

You walk up to the guys and tell them what kind of sauce, cheese and toppings you want. The best part? no matter how many you get, the price is still the same. LOVE that!

Pyro's has all types of seating available...booths, tables and even seating at a bar.

The pizzas take about 5 minutes to cook...so we sat down and waited for them to come out of the oven.

We arent big soda drinkers, but Pyro's has the coolest soda machine. You can pick all sorts of interesting combos. It was so fun!

I chose a simple pepperoni

and Joe got a spicy sauce pepperoni and sausage pizza.

The pizza was sooo good! The crust was thin and crispy and the cheese and toppings were so yummy!

Pyro's also offers beer and wine at a small bar...they even have a tv so you can watch the game.

I checked out the bathrooms and on my way saw a meeting room...great for business lunches!

The bathrooms were super clean and they had a changing table...yes!!

I think Pyro's would make a really fun date night but it is also very kid friendly!

Pyro's just opened a second location in Midtown on Union Ave.

Both locations are open Sundays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. – 10
p.m., and Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Eat Here: Russo's New York Pizza

Last week we went to an early dinner at Russo's Pizza. We have been here several times before and it is always good.

Sally has just started taking an interest in crayons and coloring....she still sometimes likes to eat the crayons though..yuck!

Russo's is one of our go to places. The food is good, they have live music on the patio and there is hardly ever a wait.

The garlic knots that they bring you for free are so yummy!

On this visit, I chose to just stick with free bread and a salad...I know...boring. The salad is really good though!

Go got a slice of pizza....look how big it is!!

Check out Russo's if you are ever in the Germantown/Collierville area....its really good!

Eat Here: Tug's

On Friday night we drove downtown to Tug's. It's on Mud Island in Harbortown. I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. It is actually #16 on Tripadvisor for Memphis.

We made sure to get there during happy hour....its everyday from 3-7. They have several drink special and appetizers for $4.95.

Here is the drink I got....the Strawberry Snapple Martini. It was yummy! I just realized I took the picture with it right next to Sally's cup :)

We decided to munch off of the appetizer "specials"...really healthy right?

Fried Pickles

really yummy chicken strips

Check it out when you get a chance!

Go Here: Flying Fish

We recently met some friends for dinner at Flying Fish downtown.

Ordering is VERY casual. Get in line and start looking at the menu. It's on the wall. This is one of the few places in Memphis where you can get fresh seafood....and hushpuppies!!

Find a seat and take a look at all of the fish on the wall.

I went with the fried shrimp, fried okra and hushpuppies....hey, might as well go all out, right?!

Joe had a Po-Boy and fries.

Sally munched off both of our plates.

I really like this place. It's right downtown, has great prices, the food is yummy and it almost makes you feel like you are at the beach ;)

Go here and join their email club. They send you a really good coupon every month! You can also get a frequent purchaser's card. Even though we only go here every so often, I still get my stamps each time. They add up and pretty soon I will get a free meal :)

Eat Here: Young Avenue Deli

A few months ago we had a day date and went to lunch at Young Avenue Deli. At night this place has great live music but during the day it makes the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. I love the feel of this place...the walls are exposed brick, there are cool old signs everywhere and everyone is really laid back.

Sally was VERY interested in the ketchup!

Another thing I like are the cups that they serve the drinks in. You get to keep them when you leave too...free souvenir!!

I got the BLT and it was one of the best that I have ever had! It's not on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask sweetly! The fries are awesome...hand cut and so delicious!!

Sally sure liked the fries too!

Young Avenue deli is located in Cooper-Young. Check out this colorful house across the street! Go there for lunch one day and then walk around Cooper-Young and go to the stores...it will be a fun day out :)
