Sally Hunts Eggs and Meets The Easter Bunny

A few days before Easter we took Sally to the local Easter egg hunt....I say "hunt" loosely...it was really 4,000 eggs scattered on a baseball field..what happened to kids actually hunting the eggs?! Oh well, it was cold but we still had fun!

Since she can't walk (yet!), we would hold her over an egg and she would reach down like "the claw" and grab it. Once she had an egg in her hands, she did not want to put it in the bucket. Silly girl!

Then it came time to meet the Easter bunny. We had no tears (yay!) but she just kind of looked up at the bunny...confused on why this huge furry creature was holding her.

My baby is famous too! She got her picture taken by the newspaper and was in the local paper the Saturday before Easter. I would say Sally's first egg hunt was a success! I can't wait to see her running around next year looking for eggs.

Spring DIY

I have to brag on my hubby a little bit. I saw a picture on Pinterest of a really rustic box made from an old wooden pallet. I put a post on Facebook asking for a wooden pallet and a friend had one so Joe went to get it...about an hour later, I had a box. Woo-hoo! I LOVE it. I put some juice glasses inside and filled them with flowers. Then I balled up newspaper and filled in the gaps between the glasses. I covered the paper with moss from Hobby Lobby and also added a few nests/candy eggs for show. This box can be changed out for different seasons and my hubby did a fantastic job. He is going to start selling these too, so if you are a local girl and want one, shoot me a message.

My Spring Mantel

Here is the spring mantel...still not happy with it but its a work in progress :)

Hello Spring Link-Up Party: Spring DIY

Here are some DIY Easter decorations I have up right now. There is still more to come :)

I bought the yarn wrapped tree and little wooden ornaments at Target last week. I printed off this free printable from Pinterest. Find it here.
I also got this free printable banner from Pinterest. It was time consuming but turned out pretty cute. Find it here.

I took some glass jars that I already had and filled them with moss and fake eggs from Hobby Lobby. The bunny also came from Hobby Lobby. I tied some raffia around the top of one of the jars.
Here is the dining room buffet all dressed up for Easter. I have some willow branches (pottery barn outlet) in a galvanized vase and a nest with more fake eggs.

I also printed off this free printable {found here} and put it in a simple black frame to "easterfy" the bookshelves.
