Here is a peek into my Kindergarten classroom all decorated for the holidays.
Here us the door to my classroom...It's missing some border at the top, but it fell down and I am told that I should not b standing on chairs...so it will have to do. I saw this idea on Pinterest and wanted to try and recreate it. I love how the middle reindeer is covering up the "don't" on the sign.
We had Grinch Day yesterday. We all wore green clothes, made who-pudding (vanilla pudding cups with green food coloring), made Grinch hats, read the story, watched the cartoon version and made a poster of Grinchy Adjectives.
I took pictures of the kids and printed them off in black and white, hot glued a red pom ball on for their nose and let them make their own antlers out of brown construction paper. They filled out reindeer applications with their parents as a take home project. I love how these turned out.
We did this activity as one of our literacy centers. The students used the prompt, "If Santa was stuck in my chimney, I would....". I loved reading what they wrote. Some of them were pretty funny!
On Gingerbread day, we went on a gingerbread man hunt, took a bite of our cookie and graphed where we bit him first (head, leg or arm), we read the book, and listed adjectives to describe the gingerbread man.
We also completed a story map on the book.
