I had a lot of ideas in my head for Henry's first birthday party. Now I know he wouldn't know what we did but I love any excuse for planning parties. One of my ideas was Where the Wild Things Are and when a local mama was selling several things from her party I took it as a sign.
I started off by ordering invites from this Etsy shop.
I dont have too many project pictures but I did cover some paper mache letters from Hobby Lobby with moss that comes in sheets.
I also got a piece of wood and painted this sign for the front door.
As guests walked in the door I had the guest book on the entry hall table. I just had a hard back copy of the book and asked everyone to sign a message for Henry.
Here is a close up of the sign I painted for the table.
Next to the table I had paper crowns for anyone who wanted one.
Here is a picture of the mantle. I added the Henry letters in front of the window but somehow managed to not take a picture.
A sweet friend let me borrow this vintage high chair and I added on a banner and Henry's birthday crown.
In the kitchen, I had bubbles on the table. I printed off labels that said, "A trick to tame the wild things".
I hung a banner on the butlers pantry.
Gold mylar balloons in the window
I set up the drink area in the dining room.
Of course we had to have Henry's Hard Soda!!
Here is the food and cake table.
On our vintage greenhouse window I put up pictures of Henry from each month.
On the dining room table, I put succulents in my reclaimed wood box.
In the backyard we set up Henry's birthday present, a teepee and also some wood displays that a friend let me borrow. They were the kind you put your face in for pictures.
I ordered this shirt for Henry off Etsy and it was perfect!
Of course I hardly took any pictures during the party....
As people left, I had cookies packaged up for favors. I made it really easy and just bought them from Costco.
Happy Birthday Henry!!!
