Family Pictures {Spring 2013}

I bought a Groupon several months back for a one hour photo session with a local photographer. I decided to have the pictures done at the Arlington town square. Although I am not IN LOVE with these pictures (or the photographer for that matter), I am happy with the way that everything turned out. I have learned though that if a photographer offers a good deal on Groupon/Living Social, etc. BEWARE! They either need the business really bad or they sell too many deals and have a hard time either fitting you in or getting your disc to you.

Enjoy the pictures ;)

It's Summertime!!

I cannot tell you how ready I was for summer break! I can wait to spend the next few months swinging Sally in the backyard, taking her to the pool, going on long walks, and just having fun and making memories. I have worked on a bucket list for our family this summer. I used a free (editable) template found here. I modified it a bit to suit our family.

Playing Catch-Up

Well I guess you probably already figured out that I failed miserably with the "Blog Everyday in May" challenge. I kept getting behind...thinking I would catch up the next day and then I wouldn't and the vicious cycle continued. The end of the year is always coo-coo bananas for me and this this year is especially crazy because I AM PACKING UP MY WHOLE CLASSROOM...9 YEARS WORTH OF STUFF!

Why you ask? I have decided to stay home next year with Sally. I have always wanted to stay at home and raise my children, be with them everyday and teach them. God has granted me the opportunity to do it next year and I am so excited. It's a tiny bit bittersweet. I hate to leave my job and the school that has meant so much to me. I am told I will never regret this decision and I cannot wait to get started!!

We are also headed to the beach next week. I cannot wait to get my toes in the sand and a fruity drink in my hand :)

Thoughtful Thursday

Day 17 {Favorite Picture of Myself}

Today's topic is "a favorite picture of myself". This is one of my favorites. It was a self portrait taken on our honeymoon in Greece. We were in Mykonos one night after dinner and we were sitting on the steps of a building. I love the white building behind us, our tans, the blue sky and how I am looking lovingly at Joe :) I felt so beautiful!

Blog Everyday {Day 15: A Day In My Life}

A Day in My Life
6:08 -I wake up and get ready. I can hear Sally talking in  her room so I quickly get ready.
7:00-Go get Sally up and feed her breakfast.

She loves when we play "footsie" under the table. Such a sweet moment!

Get her dressed and bring her to the babysitter's house.
I go to Shelby Farms and do a few laps around the lake. I feel so calm and peaceful and the weather is GORGEOUS!! I see a dead baby snake in my path and almost freak out!

I stop at Target to look around, pick up a prescription and look at the clothes. I manage to escape without doing too much damage.

I come up and eat lunch, fold laundry, clean up the kitchen, play on Pinterest and do some Disney quotes for people.

Pick up Sally at the babysitters. We do a photo shoot in the backyard.

We swing :) She LOVES the swing!!
Go inside and make dinner for the two of us (Joe was out of town for work). Give Sally a bath, play, put her to bed around 7:45. Take my shower, pack bags for the next day, play on the computer. Go to bed at 10 pm.

Mother's Day

This was my second Mother's Day with Miss Sally and we had a fabulous day. We started out with a lazy morning. Joe got up with the baby so I could sleep in. Unfortunately I was wide awake and decided to go on and get up. I also let Joe get back in the bed and I fed Sally breakfast and we played in her room. After her midmorning nap, we went to lunch at Soul Fish in Cooper-Young.

 After lunch, we went to the Memphis Zoo. We are members and try to go every few weeks. Sally is getting to the age where she gets so excited to see all of the animals. Her favorites were the monkeys (of course), the giraffes and the ducks.

For dinner, we went to eat at Firebirds. It was delicious as usual! Joe and Sally were good little shoppers and builders. Sally got me running water bottle that is going to be super handy!

 Joe built me the most beautiful, rustic table for the entry hall. It is made from old barn wood and is so special since he made it. I LOVE it!!  I just need to style it up a bit.
