I am soooo glad that I am on summer vacation. Those last two weeks of work were super hard. I honestly do not see how working moms do it. I am a MUCH happier/less stressed lady now. My calendar is already filling up for June and July with pool time, girls weekends, and maybe a few small trips. Let the summer begin!!

Fill In The Blank Friday
Yikes...I just realized it has been FIVE DAYS since I last blogged. It has been a super busy week with me going back to work. I do not know how you working mama's do it! By the time I get off work and pick Sally up from whoever is watching her that day I am exhausted. It takes all the energy I have left to come home and make dinner....forget working out and blogging. Those have just been put on the back burner....oh well....life goes on and it's almost summer break for me. I figured I could at least find the time to do Fill In The Blank Friday, so here we go!

1. Something that is very near and dear to my heart is, traveling. Joe and I spend a lot of our money on traveling and it is so worth it .
2. Birthdays are a good cause to celebrate .
3. The most fun I ever had was pretty much any trip...cruises, Disney World, the beach....I will take it all!
4. True friends are the ones where you can be honest, tell your secrets and no topic is off limits .
5. Something that makes me terribly happy is Sally's sweet smiles.
6. A good way to spend a sunny day is at the pool with a cold beverage and good on the grill .
7. My favorite celebratory food is an cream cone .

Weekend Wrap-Up and My First Mother's Day
On Friday we went to dinner at Las Delicias...of course!! Then I had a bunch of cupcakes to make :)
Saturday started bright and early. We did the Junior League 5K. Joe ran and I walked while pushing Sally. It was a rainy morning, but we finished...and Joe won in his age group and 6th overall!
We came home and we had some down time before I had 2 people coming to pick up cupcakes. In the afternoon we met our friends Peter, Parker, and Baby Cole (our friends from birth class and their new baby girl) at the zoo. We stayed for about 2 hours and then it started to rain, so we called it quits.
That's one of the joys of having a membership to the zoo...you don't feel bad about only going for a few hours. We napped a few hours on the couch before meeting Meredith and Ryan at Pete & Sam's for dinner.
On Sunday, we celebrated my first Mother's Day. Sally and I napped on the couch together in the morning and then ran a few errands. When Joe got home from work, he gave me my Mother's Day card and gift. He and Sally went shopping and they did good! I got beautiful Stella and Dot earrings and the funniest card ever! Joe drew it himself and it goes right along with the funny SNL video that I posted on my "Mother's Day" post.
Sally with my gift
Happy Baby!
Funny card and pretty earrings!
Here is the front of the card. It says: "Tell me why you love her!" and it has the lady from SNL with the baby hands licking a squirrel...bahaha!
The inside says: "Her snuggles are the best. She swaddles me at night. She sings the bestest songs." and then Hank is saying "I'm not allowed on the couch". He even drew a picture of Sally! I laughed out loud...LOVE the card!!
Later, we went to Firebirds for dinner and then came home and did a 2 mile walk around the neighborhood.

Sally-3 Months
You are 3 months old! Seriously...how is that even possible?! In some ways, it seems like you have been with us forever. I guess I just cannot imagine life without you now. You have far outgrown the "newborn" look and are starting to look like a baby with chubby cheeks and thighs. You already have such a great personality....I can see both Mommy and Daddy in you :) You love to "talk" and I think your voice is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. It truly makes my eyes tear up sometimes...I just love you so much! When you wake up, you have the biggest smile on your face when you see Mommy and Daddy. Mommy has to go back to work next week...but it will be summer vacation in 2 weeks and we are going to have so much fun!
I love you Princess Cupcake!
Love,Mommy
You have really been growing so fast! Slow down baby girl! Your sweet little face is really starting to fill out and are getting some rolls on your little thighs. Mommy calls you "Chunky Monkey". You are still wearing Size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes...some 3 month but they are a little big.
Your 3 Month Stats:
Weight: 10 pounds 2 ounces
Your hair is medium brown and you have the most beautiful blue eyes!
This month:
You have been smiling all the time...such a happy baby! Daddy and I probably look so silly trying to make you smile. Whenever we say, "I Love You" or "Pretty...Girl....." you give us the biggest smile that melts my heart...sometime it even makes my eyes tear up. It's seriously the cutest thing ever! You have been getting super chatty too. You will coo and laugh out loud...sweetest sound in the world. When I get your out of the pack-in-play (yes you are still sleeping in the room with us!) you give me the biggest smile. I sing you a song and you love that.
You have really started to notice your hands. You constantly have them in your mouth...sucking and drooling all over them. I usually try to replace them with a paci....you can't take away hands but you can take away a paci. You love to hold a blanket, lovie or your dresses. You have started grabbing Mommy's hair....you are so strong! If you are getting fussy, I will bring you to a mirror so you can see yourself. You always smile so big when you see yourself. You especially love to stand on the buffet in the dining room and look in the mirror.
You are so strong and are holding your head up like a champ! You can also prop yourself up on your elbows for a little while. You love to "stand up" while Mommy and Daddy hold your hands. I wouldn't be surprised if you started walking before your first birthday!
You are such a happy baby. Everyone is always commenting on how relaxed and chill you are. You hardly ever cry unless you are hungry or super tired. You love meeting new people and always give them one of those heart melting smiles!
You are still eating 4-5 oz. every 2 -3 hours. You take a few cat naps in the morning and a longer afternoon nap. You go to bed between 8:30 and 10:00 and you sleep until 4:30 or 6:00 in the morning. You are still sleeping in the Pack ‘N Play in our room and probably will for a few more weeks until Mommy is home for summer vacation.
You love TV. Especially Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I may have had a hand in deciding what you would like. Hey, I've got to make sure I have a Disney girl on my hand! I think all of the bright colors catch your attention.
You went to the Farmer's Market for the first time and loved it....you love going out and about anywhere really...which is lucky for us since we are always on the go.
Your grandfather, Clarence, came down to visit from Minnesota. He could not wait to meet you and is pretty much obsessed with you now...of course!

First road trip
First trip to Drew and Michelle's

Happy Mother's Day
Today is a VERY special Mother's Day for me....it is my first Mother's Day as a Mommy!
But let's start at the beginning....with my sweet mama! I learned from the best ladies! My mom was the most loving, sweet, unselfish person I have ever met. She taught me how to live life to the fullest and how to make each day count. My mama went to heaven 4 years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her. I truly believe that she took care of Baby Sally in the nursery in heaven before she came into my belly.
Baby Sally was named after my mama...the original Sally O'Mally :)
When I became a mom on February 11 of this year, my life was changed forever. I am the happiest that I have ever been. Baby Sally brings so much joy to my life. I truly hope that all of you one day have the opportunity to experience the beauty in being a parent. Each day is full of the most amazing moments.
Joe has to work on Mother's Day, but we will all be going out to dinner when he gets off to celebrate. Me? I plan on spending the day with my sweet baby girl!
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
I will leave you with my favorite SNL Mother's Day Skit :)
Fill In The Blank Friday
1. On a scale from 1-10 the frequency with which I get sick is, a one. I have been a Kindergarten teacher for 8 years now. Let's just say I have a great immune system!
2. The last time I felt sick was when I was pregnant! .
3. The worst part about being sick is how you just want to lay around all day because you feel lazy .
4. When I am sick I like to be taken care of by my mom.
5. Something I do to keep myself healthy is eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies .
6. A secret remedy that I use when I'm sick is to sleep, take hot bath and drink sprite.
7. One thing that always makes me feel better when I'm sick is a popsicle .
