Wedding ABC's
Hey Ya'll!! Joe and I have been married for 5 1/2 years and I wanted to share our special day with you. So here are our Wedding ABC's.
Attending:
I'd say we had about 120-50 guests
Bridesmaids:
I had 5 bridesmaids...two of my cousins, Sister Kristy, one of Joe's best friends, Katie, and Abby, one of my oldest friends.
Catering:
Two local ladies did the catering and it was so good.
I loved my cake...simple and plain. Almond flavored cake with a raspberry filling....too bad I didn't get to eat any at the wedding.

Dress:
I loved my dress! It was a strapless Watters & Watters. I knew it was "the one" as soon as I put it on. It was a little more than I wanted to spend on a dress. Luckily, I heard about Netbride and I got the exact dress at 1/2 the cost. If you are getting married, check this site out. I also got my bridesmaids dresses from here too.
I never felt more beautiful!!
Engagement:
Joe proposed in July of 2005. We were engaged for a little under a year before we got married on June 10, 2006.
Flowers:
Our flowers were done by a local lady. I told her I wanted lots of pink and green. I love the way that they turned out.
Mother's bouquets
My bouquet up close....I loved the orchids and berries.
I had a dragonfly brooch that I pinned on since Joe and I both have a thing for dragonflies.
Groomsmen:
Joe had 7 groomsmen. They all wore lime green ties and crazy socks.
Honeymoon:
Joe and I had a FANTASTIC honeymoon to Greece for 10 days!! We had both always wanted to go here and it was so magical!! We went to Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini.
Invitations:
Our invitations were very simple and classic :) Plain white with black script.
Justice of the Peace:
I suppose this means the preacher. Our preacher was Ron Delbene. He also did our house blessing and pre-marriage counseling.
Keepsakes:
As a keepsake for us, we had guests sign a book and take fun pictures using crazy props.
Ladies Night:
We had my bachelorette weekend in Nashville and had the best time....no pics though. It was pretty PG....shopping, eating, and chatting.
Music:
Our wedding music was pretty traditional. The reception music was a blast. We had a DJ and he was instructed to ONLY play oldies and motown....great dancing music.

Joe and I danced.....all.night.long. We had a blast!!
There may have been a canoe line, there may have been dancing on tables and there may have been laying on the floor for the "a little bit softer now" part of SHOUT!!
Newlyweds:
I still consider us newleyweds :) Joe and I on our wedding night...me with a make up free face :)
On the day after our wedding,
we had our parents over for brunch and to open our gifts.
Old, new, borrowed, blue:
My something old a penny in my shoe.
My something new was my dress and earrings.
My something borrowed was a special embroidered hankerchief that belonged to my grandmother.
My something blue was my garter that Joe's mom made for me.

As long as I can remember I wanted to have a super fun reception. Since our church allows dancing and drinking (GO Episcopalians!!), we decided to have the reception at the church in the reception hall....best decision ever!

Shoes:
Since Joe's not much taller than me, I decided NOT to wear heels. I also wanted to be comfortable, so I chose simple white flats.
Trash the Dress:
Nope...it's in a special container under my guest bed.
Unique:
Joe and I decided NOT to see each other before the wedding. That didn't stop him from surprising me though. He had all of the groomsmen bring me little notes and gifts. Here is his friend, Doug, coming in with a note acting like a llama.
Here I am reading a love letter from Joe. He also gave me diamond earrings and wrote/recorded me a song that i was able to listen to.
Joe and I skipped down the aisle for the recessional. No one knew that we were doing it and they were so surprised.
Another fun thing we had was a vintage taxi can from London as our getaway car. It was so neat!
Vows:
We recited traditional vows.
Wedding Woes:
My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer about 6 months before the big day. She was very busy with treatments and I was left to do everything wedding related by myself. I somehow pulled it off. She was so worried that she would need to wear a wig on my big day and would not be able to dance. She still had a lot of hair left and she danced all night :)
X-rated:
Umm....no.....
Young kids:
We didn't have a flower girl or a ring bearer. My church frowns upon it since they usually interrupt the ceremony.
Zzzzz:
We were exhausted after such a long and wonderful day! We left the reception around midnight and stayed at our house. Yup....we bought the house together a year before, but Joe was the only one who slept there while I continued to live at my parents. It was awesome to spend our first night together in our house.
