Five On Friday

Happy Friday!! Get ready for a random assortment of updates!

{one}
I snagged this beauty from a local resale site for just $25. Having on old church pew in my house has been on the list of wants for a while. It started out light colored and 9 feet long. My handy hubby cut it down, sanded it and stained it. Im trying to find some pillows to add to it but I love it!!

The weather has been gorgeous here and I am trying to soak up every last minute with my sweet girl while she is still the only child. She is excited to be a big sister but in all honesty, her world is about to be rocked so I want quality time with her.

We went strawberry picking.

We painted a fairy house.

We have just been enjoying the weather and our beautiful yard. She loves playing in her playhouse, jumping on the trampoline and playing on her "magic trail" with her fairy garden.

She loves her friends Sophie and Caroline and they got pet chickens so she thinks that is pretty cool.

Last Friday was especially hard in the Moske house. After having our dog, Hank, for 14 years, we had to put him to sleep. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make but we know if it was the right one. Aside from being old (15 years old!) and a big boy (95 lbs), he was having a lot of trouble getting around. His back legs had been giving out and on Thursday he snagged his toenail on something and totally ripped it off. We knew this day was coming for a few months but after that injury, he was unable to walk at all.

Poor thing was miserable :( We just couldn't bear to watch him suffer. He had a mobile vet come to the house and do it and with a belly full of cheeseburgers, he took his last breath listening to the Beatles. We had him cremated and Joe is going to build a bit for his ashes. After loosing my mother, its probably the hardest thing we have ever been through. Pets truly are part of the family and he was our first child. The house feels very empty without him...

We got to see our sweet boy this week. I am 36 weeks!! I can't believe that he will be here soon. This pregnancy has truly gone by super fast!

Recent Happenings {Easter and Nursery Updates}

{one}

We are really making progress in Henry's room. I am still waiting on the bedding but here is a sneak peak. After its totally done, I will be doing a full tour with sources for everything.

I won some Minnie ears on an Instagram contest and they came in last week. LOVE them!! Find them here

{three}
My sweet friends are throwing me a baby sprinkle. Nothing big....just super close friends and family. I'm excited though :)

{four}
Joe went all out for St. Patricks Day and picked Sally up from school in this outfit. She loved it but I told her when she was 16, she would probably feel differently :)

Easter has come and gone and I'm sad to take my decorations down.

We went to Bass Pro to get the free picture with the bunny. Sally was so excited.

I packed Sally a few fun lunches for Easter. Here is one of them.

We made recycled crayon bunnies for her classmates.

We made chocolate bunnies in a jar for her sweet teachers.

We attended the Germantown Egg Hunt and Sally had a blast. It was FREEZING!!

Sally's Playhouse

A little over a year ago, Joe and I had the idea that Sally really needed a playhouse in the backyard. If you know my hubby at all, you know that any store bought playhouse just wouldn't do.

So he sat down and drew a plan. We scoured Pinterest and took elements from several different houses that I had saved. After several trips to the hardware store, he got started. His parents were in town for the weekend so his stepdad helped and they got a lot done. The first thing that they did was build a platform for the house to go on. Then they framed it out. Here are some progress pictures.

We used galvanized corrugated metal. Joe built the cutest door and windows from scratch and even put in window boxes.

After planting some flowers, the house was almost done! We added the numbers 390 on the front since that was the address of our first house.

Sally loves watering her flowers!

Here is a shot of the inside. We added a loft with the cutest little ladder. I took Sally's old crib mattress and my mother in law helped make some pillows so Sally could have a snuggle spot in the top. Its actually pretty comfortable.

We also brought Sally's play kitchen out there so she would have her house all set up :) I know its something she will enjoy for years to come!!

Recent Happenings {20 weeks pregnant, nursery progress, etc}

{one}
We are finally making some progress in the baby room. I had to move all my craft room stuff into the guest room closest.

I always thought I wanted a vintage maps and globes room but then I discovered the vintage camping theme and fell in love. I made this inspiration board. I already got the dresser, vintage globe bank, pillow cover and some of the art.

Here I am...20 weeks pregnant! We are halfway there!!

It's so very un-Southern of me, but I just cannot do smocking on boys. I think we will do some seersucker but for the most part go towards the hipster look. I ordered these off eBay this week :)

{two}
I have been wanting a vintage grocery sign for the kitchen for some time. When I saw this one as "deal of the day" on Decor Steals, I had to get it! If you haven't signed up for their daily deal email go here and sign up! They always have the cutest stuff!

{three}
We made a trip to Minnesota to visit Joe's family after Christmas. It was FREEZING!! Sally got to ice skate and sled and had the best time!

{four}
My bestie, had her sweet baby girl while we were out of town so we went this week to visit her. Sally was so sweet holding the baby!

Since I'm from out of town it was hard to bring her a meal. I decided to make her a basket. I filled it some of her favorite snacks, cozy socks, lip balm, face wash, hair bows for the baby and magazines/books.

My blogging here has been neglected. Life has been crazy but I've also been blogging over at Memphis Moms Blog :)

Check it out here!

Hubby is officially a FedEx cargo pilot. We had his winging ceremony last week and to say I am proud is an understatement. He has worked so hard to get here and this is going to be huge for our family.
