Top 2 Tuesday-Cities

Today the "Top 2 Tuesday" theme is cities and more specifically your favorite cities in the USA.

I am going to pick 2 places that I LOVE to visit.

1. Laguna Beach, CA

and NO, it's not because of these guys (the first season laguna Beach kids). Although the first time we went there, I kept saying things like "That's where LC and Lo got their nails done before prom", "That's LC's house!!", "That's the beach where Steven and Kristen broke up", etc.

and it's also NOT about these guys...the second season of Laguna Beach...although Taylor from Laguna Beach (she's the one leaning against Talan in the green print dress) was on our boat going from Bangkok to Phuket to Koh Phi Phi...how random right?!

and here she is ON OUR BOAT!! She is the one sitting down with blonde hair. I pretended to take a picture of Joe so I could get her. She was with a bunch of college friends.

It's NOT for ANY of those reasons...it's because it's GORGEOUS!! If money was no object we would already be living here. I would seriously pick up my life and move it out there. The weather is beautiful (and so are the people!!) It's just SOOOO nice!! Maybe one day...sigh!

2. NYC- I have been here several times and love it! I would love the chance to live there but that's a big step! We tried to live there for a summer in someone's apartment and it never worked out for one reason or another. Luckily we have friends in both NYC and Laguna so we get to visit as much as we want and stay for FREE!!

Date Night!!

I had a crazy idea this week. I thought that we needed to SPICE things us if you will so I proposed that we take turns each week to plan a date for each other. This week will be my turn and next week is his, etc. It can be something that we really want to do and want the other to do with us or we can plan a date that we think the other will enjoy. Hopefully this will get us our of our comfort zone and force us to try some new restaurants, activities, etc. I will be blogging about our date night every week. Aren't you curious to see what I have up my sleeve for this week?

Monkeys and Wolves and Bears Oh My!!

Joe and I went to the zoo on Saturday for a "day date". Since he works on the weekend nights, day dates are a normal thing for us. We are members of the zoo and it's so nice just to go for a few hours and see our favorite animals.

I love these little guys. They are cute and very curious!

This is our bird friend. We named him Seymour. We visit him every time that we come to the zoo. I SWEAR he knows who we are. He is always sitting up in his tree and when he sees us he comes down to play. It's really neat!!

Go had him going back and forth and got him all excited...look at those head feathers!

Here is Joe in the "open flight area". It's in the bird house where the birds are flying all around you. Not for people who are scared of feathered creatures!

Awww...it's my little monkey friend!!

I love the gorillas but I always feel sad for them. They are so human like. When they look at you, it feels like you are looking at another person. I wonder what they are thinking being stuck in a cage?

This ostrich was crazy looking and kept giving Joe the eye.

ELEPHANTS!!!

I love the new area of the zoo. The grizzly bears were very active today. They were super playful in the water. They came right up to the wall where we were standing.

I was seriously THIS close to a bear....crazy!! He is saying "Hi!!".

The wolves were TIRED!!

Yay for a fun day at the zoo :)

It's officially FALL in our house!!

I could not resist it any longer...I had to buy my official fall scent today from BBW and of course I had to burn it...LOVE this smell. It makes my house cozy and smell yummy!!

It's Official!!

I have signed up for my first 1/2 marathon on Sat. Dec. 4. I will be walking most (if not all ) of it. Group training this Saturday at my house. Let me know if you are interested!

Blogger Katie took us on a tour of her fridge and asked to see ours...so here goes :)

We got our fridge at Lowe's on the sale aisle. It has a small ding on the front that no one ever notices. You can see it in the picture with the flash on.

We LOVE condiments....just call me the "Condiment Queen"! We have tons to dressings, jellies, jams, marinades, mustard, mayo, ketchup, lime juice, hot sauce, wine, and water in French bottles....because it makes me feel fancy :)

When you look at the shelves...no one can say we do not have any food..although Joe likes to complain that we NEVER have anything to eat. Silly boy...look at all food!

We have eggs, hummus, key lime curd, baby tomatoes, English cucumbers, blueberries, raspberries, cranberry juice, marinated olives, LOTS of butter ( I bake ya'll!), washed lettuce in a big container, milk, whipping cream, OJ, more salad dressing, etc. One drawer has cheese, hot dogs, bacon, etc. in it. The drawers on the bottom have veggies and fruit in them.

Oh Lawd!! Look at my freezer...yikes! It is messy!! Frozen prok chops, frozen chicken, frozen shrimp, frozen fruit, popsicles, coffee, frozen puff pastry, frozen berries, homemade strawberry jam and frozen edamame.

In the door of the freezer...frozen Italian ice, frozen corn, frozen fruit, pistachios and concert tickets.

What's in YOUR fridge??

Look at the awesome shirt I just ordered from Victoria's Secret. Joe is going to LOVE it! I needed something cute for rooting on Joe's favorite team this year. Shhhhh!! It's a surprise...don't tell him. I am just going to save it for the first game, put it on, and knock his socks off :)

Why Our Friends ROCK!!

Because they gave us this CROCK!! Can you believe this was in their garage sale pile?!?!

We LOVE it....it looks perfect in our house!! We did some research and it's a 10 gallon crock from Louisville Pottery Company from the early 1900's :)

Earlier this week, I listed purses as one of my top indulgences. Several of you asked to see, so for your viewing pleasure I now present my bags to you :) I am not going to write captions for all of them.

This bag I won from Allure magazine a year or so ago. It's a Butler bag and apparently it is worth a lot of money. It's made of ostrich leather....eww! I have actually never carried it...it's just not my style.

My Louis Vuitton bags. I got the orange one in Greece on my honeymoon and the brown signature pattern one as a graduation gift....yes, I am pretty sure that they are real :)

Top Two Tuesday-Indulgences

My Top Two (seven) Indulgences

Well... I actually have more than two, so I will try to keep my list at top

1. Fresh Flowers

I get them at the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings downtown. I also get flowers once a month from Holiday's Flowers in Germantown. It was a special Christmas gift from Joe last year.

2. A monthly massage from Massage Envy

I have been a member here for almost 2 years and I LOVE IT!! It is such a nice way to treat yourself and they make it so affordable.

3. Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream from Baskin Robbins....my fav!!

4. Getting my nails/toenails done

It is so relaxing and makes me feel pretty!

5. Traveling as much as I can

If you have the opportunity, take it! Figure out how to pay for it later :) Joe and I have been lucky to get to travel to some fabulous places and we do not care if we have to put in on the credit card. We just go!

6. Good expensive sunglasses

I got these as a Christmas present from Joe the first Christmas that we were married...and I still wear them everyday!

7. BAGS!!

Granted not ALL of my bags are real (shady room in Chinatown...what??!!), but I still love them. I love collecting them, organizing them, cleaning them, and especially carrying them.
