Big Girl Room Inspiration

Hey y'all. I have working on getting Sally's nursery transitioned to a big girl room. I am having a quilt made by a local lady using these fabrics. It will not be ready for a few months...but I am excited!

I am hoping to make her a pillow case like this too.

I love this art for the walls:

I love this room....I am using the same colors.

I think doing some fabric covered books would be cute for the bedside table.

I have ordered extra fabric to make a teepee. I love the bunting too!

I am so excited to see it all come together :)

I Love a Good Nook

I was updating my Casa del Moske tab last night and realized I had several sections of our current house that I hadn't officially shared. It has been so fun doing these little projects to make our house become our "home". I am so thankful for a husband that is handy and on board with building/creating. Here are some pics...more to come.

Our mudroom bench. This is right when you come in the door by the garage. I love to rotate the art/printables that go on the ledge at the top. The bottom part lifts up to a hidden storage area. I keep paper towels, extra cleaning products, beach towels and sunscreen in here.

This is at the top of the stairs right by the bathroom door. The little cabinet is from Target. I have started collecting vintage number 3's....since there are three people in our little family. I guess once we have another baby, I will have to switch my number. I store board games and extra books for Sally in here.

This is my special entry hall table that Joe built for me last Mothers Day. Its made of reclaimed barn wood and I LOVE it!

This is our little office area right off the kitchen. It used to be a dining room (and the current dining room used to be a formal living room). The previous owners switched things up and built in this desk. The opposite wall is nothing but built in bookcases.

Master Bathroom Reveal

I am finally ready to show you our new master bathroom.

Joe started this project my basically gutting the bathroom. He took the walls down to boards and had to jackhammer the floor up to change all the plumbing.

Here is what it looked like.

Luckily we have a friend who owns a concrete business. He came over and helped pour the new concrete.

We had been collecting pieces for the bathroom for a month or so before we started the renovation.

We had been looking at this console on Amazon for a while. Imagine our excitement when someone was selling it on our local Craigslist for about $500 off! Of course we had to get it!!

We got the lights from Pottery Barn Outlet. They are from the Mercer Collection.

Joe also put in a built in. It has a few shelves at the top and then three deep drawers.

There is subway tile in the shower.

We got the bathtub for free several years ago. It had been sitting in someone's yard. We just had to have it refinished.

Here are some finished pictures:

The view from our bathroom.

Joe built the mirror ;)

The soap containers are from Target :)

Here is the view from my closet. The chandelier is from IKEA and I painted it white.

The train rack and toilet paper holder are from Pottery Barn.

I LOVE the way the bathroom turned out. I seriously feel like a princess every time I take a bath :)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sally's Play Kitchen

This was Sally's big Christmas gift this year and I wanted to share some more pictures. Joe build this kitchen using some plans I found on pinterest. He made a few of his own modifications.

This is probably Sally's favorite place to play right now and I have fun too :)

The little shopping cart came from Pottery Barn Kids.

Most of the food is Melissa and Doug. The eggs in the crate came from Pottery Barn Kids. The little toaster is from Amazon.

The white table is Pottery Barn Kids and the chairs are form IKEA.

The faucet came from Amazon. The sink is actually a dog bowl. The knobs on the stove are from Hobby Lobby and the "burners" are wooden basketballs from Jo-Anns. I spray painted the backs with silver spray paint.

I love this kitchen so much! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sally's Closet Reveal

Ever since we moved into our house, I had plans for Sally's closet. It took a back burner. There were more important things to do...like the kitchen and bathroom. Over the last few weeks, Joe has been working on building organizers for her closet and today I am so excited to show you the finished product.

When we started, there was basically a bar going across the closet for clothes, a weird built in shoe shelf near the bottom and a shelf on the top. No organization whats-so-ever! I had been looking at Pinterest for inspiration and these are the pictures that I kept coming back to.

I showed them to Joe and he came up with a plan. Since he travels for work, it took longer to finish than I would have liked but I love the final product. Thanks Joe!!

Here are some progress pictures:

And here is what it looks like today:

The pink and green bins on the top shelf came from Target. The pink and green circle metal tubs are from Target/Hobby Lobby last year. The green polka dot baskets came from Target several years ago. The pink polka dot laundry basket and small pink polka dot fabric bins came from Home Goods a few weeks ago.

Please let me know if you have any questions ;)

Prepping Your Guest Room For Guests

Joe's parents will literally be here any minute. They are driving down from Minnesota to spend Thanksgiving with us and we are so excited to see them! I wanted to try and so some simple decorations for the guest room to make it a little festive. Here is what it looks like.

I put together a little welcome bucket of goodies for them. It has Twizzler bites (their favorite), Milk Duds, honey roasted peanuts and some fruit....just a little something to make them more comfortable (and take care of any late night cravings!).

I took a glass jar that I already had and added some pinecones. I also added a burlap pumpkin (Hobby Lobby), a framed quote, and some Scrabble tiles to spell out "grateful".

I also made a banner using free printables from Pinterest.

Here is a another view.

I always try to stock my guest room with magazines. I have them stored in a vintage milk crate.

I also always put a stack of freshly laundered towels and washcloths on the bed.

I asked Joe to install a hook on the back of the door. Our bathroom remodel is still not finished so we will all be sharing a bathroom (yay!). I thought it may be easier to have a place where they can hang their towels.

Sally loves this little shelf I have. Its full of vintage children's books. She loves to read them...upside down.

What do you do to make your guests more comfortable?
