Five On Friday

{one}
This is what I have been eating for breakfast everyday. Apple slice sandwiches filled with peanut butter and granola. Love them!!

{two}
I sewed my first dress for Sally this week. It took a while but I think it turned out so cute! I cant wait to make another one.

{three}
We are in the process of booking some beach trips...one for May and one for October. I'm so excited...I need my toes in the sand soon!

{four}
Speaking of travel. I have decided that I ultimately have two main goals in life: to spend as much time with my family/friends as possible and to travel the world. Its nice knowing what you want out of life :)

{five}
Did you catch the Full House reunion on Jimmy Fallon. I LOVED it!!

watch the video here

If you like this...have you seen where he had Jesse and the Rippers at musical guests? Classic!

Last Minute Disney Tomorrow.....Totally Unplanned!!

So Joe and I had a last minute super fun trip planned just for the two of us. Even though I am Disney girl at heart, we had decided that this would be a great way to check out Universal Studios and I was pretty excited to check out the Harry Potter section. That brings us to today...We made it to Orlando and we were on our way to lunch when he got called into work....in Memphis!!

As someone who has been stranded in Japan, navigated her way through Thailand and walked the streets of NYC alone, I was only slightly stressed. Its part of his job...to bed ready at the drop of a hat and we knew this was a possibility. But...I was still upset. My dreams of a romantic and fun trip are now the drain. Joe is already back in Memphis and I am stranded in Orlando. Now comes the big decision....do I change my flight and come home a day early...or be brave and adventurous and stay...and do a day at Disney....by myself?!  I have heard of people doing Disney by themselves. It always seemed liberating to me...kinda like going to the movies by yourself (which I have done before). But, now here...would I actually do it? Will I feel lonely when I see all the little families and excited kids? Maybe....

I have decided to stay in Orlando. I have booked a night at a cheap Disney resort and will spend tomorrow at Magic Kingdom. Im super excited to be able to ride the rides I want...and as many times as I want. I want to go in and out of shops, take pictures and just make a day out of it. I may feel silly at times, but I think it will be fun.

One of the hardest things? I totally wasn't planning on doing this...therefore I don't have my cute Minnie shirt, my Minnie ears...and I dont get to eat any sweets since I gave them up for January...boo! Is a Dole Pineapple Whip considered a sweet?!

So there is my story...wish me luck. Oh and if anyone just "happens" to be in Magic Kingdom tomorrow and wants to hang out, let me know :)

Five on Friday

Hey Everybody! I am so excited for this weekend. I am heading to Nashville to spend a few days with my bestie. We will be shopping, planning and eating yummy food....a much needed girls weekend.

{one}
Although Sally has yet to climb out of her crib yet, I know the day will be here soon. Of course I am already planning her big girl room. I know I want a bed like one of these...hoping I can find one at a thrift shop/antique store/flea market and paint it.

{two}
I did a little online shopping this week and scored these 2 outfits for a steal. Sally's spring and summer wardrobe is just about complete.

{three}

TV is good right now. I have my schedule and Joe has been out of town for the last 10 days so I have enjoyed indulging in the craziness that is The Bachelor and Girls.

Joe and I both love American Idol and there seem to be some really good singers so far.

We finally jumped on the Walking Dead bandwagon. Now I am wondering what took so long. We are addicted. We are still on Season 2 but I cant wait to see what happens.

{four}
I have been doing so, so well with my eating (NO SWEETS!!) and my working out (5 times this week!). Go me!!

{five}
I am so happy to have my hubby home. He was gone way too long...of course now that he is home, I go running off to Nashville...such is life. :)

Christmas 2013 Review

Our Christmas (and all events leading up to it and after it) was a whirlwind. On Christmas Eve day (and pretty much everyday), Sally decided to redecorate the tree.
 Later we started the evening with a 4 pm church service. It was kid friendly and the children preformed the Christmas story. I hope Sally can be in it next year. She would make a pretty cute little lamb. After that we went to my Aunt's house for our annual tradition of appetizers and Dirty Santa. Sally had a blast and especially loved riding around in the wagon.

We got home way too late (after 10 pm!!). Sally was way too tired and was so ready for bed! It was then that I realized we didn't get a family picture or a pajama picture or put out cookies for Santa....eeeekk!! I managed to get a picture of Sally in front of the tree in her pajamas and then we took turns taking pictures of her with us. I'm still a little bummed we didnt get one of all three of us...oh well. As far as the cookies go, we skipped it all together. We will have to do it next year for sure.

Joe read her the Night Before Christmas (our tradition) and the she was OUT!

Joe and I had so much fun playing Santa and setting all of her stuff out. Joe finished her cute kitchen just in time and I LOVE the way it turned out!

I also filled up her stocking. I LOVE stockings!

Sally slept until about 8 am on Christmas morning. I was so excited to see her face when she walked in and saw all of her new things. I can imagine it only gets more fun each year! She was a little overwhelmed at first. Granted she had just woken up and now there were 5 adults staring at her...poor thing!

She LOVED her kitchen, her new table, and her grocery cart/groceries. I'm pretty sure she was overwhelmed and didn't know what to play with first.

Joe helped Hank get into his stocking.

I loved my gifts from Joe. He built me a ribbon organizer for my craft room and got me new pajamas, red flats, a scarf, a bluetooth speaker, earrings and a new purse!

Sally just kept opening gifts and then wanting to take EVERYTHING out of the box.

After opening gifts at home, we went over to my dads for breakfast and more gifts. Sally got a ride on Minnie car and thought it was the coolest thing ever!

After that we had to rush home. I had a turkey breast to cook, a pie to make, etc. We hosted Christmas Day dinner at our house for about 30 people. It was a great success but I managed to not take any pictures. I guess I was a little busy playing hostess....

All in all Christmas was a success!! I can't wait to do it all again next year!
