Asheville Babymoon

I realized that I never posted about our Babymoon trip to Asheville, NC over Fall Break. We got there super late/early in the morning. Here is where we stayed. Asheville Swiss Chalets in the Alpine cabin. we loved these cabins and would for sure stay here again. They are really neat cabins nestled up on a mountain....and they are dog friendly. Yup, we brought hank on his first ever vacation. He thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Here is our cabin.

When we woke up the next morning we decided to explore the city. We stopped for breakfast at City Bakery Cafe. It was super yummy!
Joe had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich
and I had a sticky pecan roll and juice.

Our first stop was the Tobacco Barn.
I had read about this place from several blogs and knew it would be right up our alley...boy, I was right. It's a good thing we did not bring the truck or we would have brought home a lot of neat furniture.
It's a HUGE place full of antiques...we loved this old card catalog.
This whole section was $100...pick anything for $100!!
There were some odd things there too...anyone need a picture backdrop?

Hank waited patiently in the car for us.
After our antique adventure, we decided to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was beautiful with all of the leaves changing color. It was quite chilly outside so we did not do any hiking. We did take Hank for a few short walks.
He had a blast!
We also walked around downtown Asheville and made a stop at Mast General Store. We left with a super cute alligator rattle for Sally.

We decided to eat lunch at Mellow Mushroom of all places...yes, we have one in Memphis, but this was is really good. It did not disappoint. We had so much pizza left that we ate it for dinner that night at the cabin...yup..we were in bed and watching Dexter on the computer by 8 pm ;) Hey, this is a trip for relaxing, right?

In the mornings, it was so nice to just be able to let Hank out on the porch and in the attached dog run. I'm sure there were so many dog smells for him to explore.

We had breakfast the next morning at Tupelo Honey Cafe...very yummy!

Then we made the trek to The Biltmore. We spent all day there touring the house (no pictures were allowed to be taken inside), exploring the grounds, and visiting the winery.

For dinner Joe was really wanting a burger, so I did some research and found Burgermeisters. It was a little off the beaten path but hit the spot....once again, we went back to the cabin and relaxed after dinner.
Overall we had a very nice and relaxing trip. Hank loved going on vacation and we loved watching him explore.
