Sally: Week One
What a difference a week makes! My body is slowly going back to its pre-pregnancy shape. I have already lost 20 pounds and I hope that it will continue!
Loves: Eating, her swing, snuggling with mommy and daddy in the bed, the process of being burped, car rides, being swaddled, when mommy and daddy sing to her.
Eating: My milk came in a few days ago and it has been a bumpy start. You are just starting to get the hang of breastfeeding. Mommy and Daddy were worried that you weren't getting enough so I started pumping and we supplemented with formula...which makes me sad. The most important thing is for you to get the nutrients that your sweet little body needs. Now we are on a schedule....still trying to breastfeed as much as I can, pumping when I can, and using formula as needed. Hopefully we can get to strictly breastfeeding soon.
Sleeping: You are sleeping very well. You normally wake up 2-3 times a night to get changed and eat. You are a good little sleeper. We love snuggling you in the bed next to us when we wake up in the morning.
Fun Facts: We have already been to the Dr. 2 times for your jaundice....it is a very mild case and doesn't seem to be worrying the Dr., but Mommy and Daddy were worried. Your bilirubin levels are down and we go for a check up on Monday.
Mommy Moments: I can do a lot of things while holding a baby, I cried when we brought you home to the house (I was just so happy), Mommy gets a little "mama bear" when someone else does something with you that she doesn't like.
Firsts: You went to the Dr. 2 times, you pooped and peed on Mommy and Daddy at your newborn photo shoot, you went on your first trip to Jackson, TN, Hank kissed you on the mouth, first snuggles from a Granna and Poppy.

Glad to hear you guys are doing well! They do get better at breastfeeding b/c their mouth matures and they just get the hang of it better. And yes they are sneaky about getting their arms out of the swaddles! Glad she is liking the swing and a good sleeper! Nolan had some jaundice too, and it was no problem it went away pretty quickly. She is an adorable little girl!

carter walked in while i was reading this post and wanted to read it too once she saw it was you. but, when we saw you go to dr.miller too, she was super excited. so, we have to tell you we are big dr.miller fans over here!
btw, carter didn't like having her arms swaddled either so we swaddled her under the arms. sally's size reminds me a lot of carter who lost a full pound while we got the whole nursing thing figured out.
