I Lovin' You

As if I needed ANOTHER reason on why my husband rocks....here it is. Yes, this is Joe singing me songs...pretty good, right?! He has a band called "Young Loseph and the Law". Since he has been flying it had been hard for the guys to get together to play, but I think that they are about to start up again. Check out all the songs...they are ALL about me :)

My favorite is "I'm Lovin' You", but I also LOVE "I'm Comin' Home".
Let me know what you think.

Weekend Project!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I LOVE burlap!! I found these DIY placemats and plan to complete them this weekend. You can find the free font here: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/CutOutsFLF

How Do You Roll??

Joe and I are loving these old factory cart coffee tables. The first one is from Z Gallerie and is about $600. Love it!! The next one is at Restoration Hardware and is more expensive....$900. Maybe we can get one as a joint anniversary gift? Of course the best option would be to find one at a flea market somewhere for way cheaper.

Triple Six Mafia Queens for life!!!

I got 5 on it....

I copied this from Sister Kristy's blog....Name 5 Loves/Hates.

**Loves**
1. I love kickboxing. It's addictive! Who would have thought that I would be punching and kicking?! I can tell a difference in my body and the way it makes me feel.
2. I live for Girls Weekends. I am so glad that we make time for each other and we always have fun!!
3. I love planning trips. If you have not checked out Tripadvisor.com, you totally should. You can "build trips". I have over 50 saved...just in case :)
4. I love snuggling in the bed watching a movie with Joe. We decided when we got married that the bedroom is no place for a TV, so we do not have one in there. Whenever we want to watch a movie together, we prop the laptop up on a pillow and snuggle in.
5. I love, love, love planning parties....I just wish I had more time to have them....and friends that would actually show up!!

**Hates**
1. Litterbugs....I have said this before....people who litter their trash are just that...TRASH!!
2. People who are mean to animals/bugs. I hope they get what is coming to them!!
3. People who allow their children to act a fool in public and do nothing....Joe and I always say that the first time our kids try that....it WILL be the last!
4. Cheese..I know, I am crazy!! I will only eat white cheese on pizza. Period.
5. Nascar...really, turn left, then turn left, then turn left??!! That's entertainment? Two words....WHITE TRASH!!

31 Cent Night

This is seriously one of my most favorite nights of the year. It's the simple things really...like scoops of ice cream for only 31 cents!! Head on over to your local Baskin Robbins on Wednesday night from 5-10 pm. I am thinking of making Joe jog over there with me....it's the least we can do if we are going to eat 2 scoops of ice cream :)

Yard Sale Happiness!

I hit up a yard sale held at a local church yesterday. Look at hank checking out my goodies! I can not get enough of these wicker plates. They are so perfect for backyard BBQ's and contain a certain element of nostalgia for me. I also picked up copies of "Eat, Pray, Love", "Marley and Me" and "The Shack". I actually own these books already, but they were a steal at 50 cents each. I will either give them away or list them of Paperbackswap.com. I also got the DVD's "P.S. I Love You" and "Oliver and Company" for $2 each, the VHS of "Peter Pan" for school was $1 and a book abd car for my classroom treasure box.
The best find by far was this "M" for $1. I have big plans for this. Can you guess?

A Covington Wedding

I had the privilege last night to do a dessert buffet at a wedding in Covington. The bride, Erin, had showed me a picture of a wedding online for me to use as inspiration. I draped a vintage lace tablecloth over a gray one and used moss risers to hold white pedestal servers. I had chocolate covered marshmallows "growing" out of wheat grass in wooden boxes. There was a variety of mini tarts, cookies and cupcakes plus my personal favorite, baklava!! I was very please how it turned out. Someone even compared me to Amy Atlas, who is probably the best known dessert buffet designer. It's always fun to hear people ohh and ahh over my work.

Joe and I stepped in as bartenders when there was a mad rush. I have literally never seen people drink so much alcohol. I ran into Kelly from work....how random!?

Things That Make Me Mad!!

I have had a weird couple days, so I thought I would make a list of the current things that make me MAD!!

*People who talk about me behind my back and then act all buddy-buddy to my face. As far as I am aware, I have never done anything to this person and do not understand what the problem is. Jealousy maybe?? Maybe they are insecure with themselves and this is the way they deal with it. I have had heard this person talk about others before but never realized she was doing the same thing to me....I haven't had this happen since middle school and do not enjoy it. Now, the big question is how to deal with it. Should I confront this person??

*I HATE people who litter!! Please stop driving through my beautiful neighborhood and throwing your garbage out of your windows. Save it for your neighborhood (Orange Mound) or better yet, throw it away like decent human beings!

*People who are lazy drive me CRAZY!!! I have a full time job, a cupcake business that is booming and I work out 4-5 days a week. I am the sponsor of a club at school, in Junior League and cook dinner almost every night. There is no excuse for laziness. You have the power to control your life. If you are not happy with something in it, get off your boo-tay and do something about it. There are 24 hours in everyday and if you do not use them, they are wasted. Stop watching TV!! Get out there and enjoy all life has to offer. Do not complain!!

*People who make stupid decisions....I do not understand. In my opinion, if everyone would just listen to me, the world would be a happier place :)

All of Us!!

One more Disney pic!! I forgot to include a picture of Doug and Emily. They were troopers and followed me around the park all day :) We are looking a little rough here...keep in mind that by this point we had probably walked 13-15 miles....no joke!! Every time we go to Disney we think we should wear a pedometer to see...we always forget :)

My Life Is On Hold!!

I can't seem to plan anything right now....no vacations, no parties, no social events....we do not know Joe's schedule yet and to say it is frustrating would be putting it mildly. We always go on a trip for our anniv. in June and I am not even sure if that is going to happen. I'm sorry....just needing to VENT!! I am SOOOOOO happy that he got this job and that he is back home, but those of you who know me well know that I am a planner with a capital P!! I need to know what is happening and write it in my pink and white polka dot planner. Sister, are we still going to the longest yard sale??

Disney Day 3!!

Our last day in Disney World was spent at Blizzard Beach. We actually slept in and then took the bus over to the park. We have always wanted to try a Disney water park and I am glad we did. We got a locker for our stuff and then proceeded to ride all the slides.....well almost all for me. I could not do Summit Plummit. It is actually the tallest water slide in the USA and way to scary for me!!
After the water park (we stayed for 5 hours!), we came back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We had reservations at Wolfgang Puck's in Downtown Disney. Once again, we took the free water taxi.
These are just some pictures while waiting for the boat to come. We had a wonderful dinner....I forgot to take pics!! Overall, it was a great trip!! Hopefully we can come back in a few years. Until then, I would love to help any of you plan your magical Disney vacation :)

Disney Day 2!!

Whenever we go to Disney, I like to be one of the first people in the park. Joe has learned to expect this and therefore does not put up a fight about getting up early anymore. The first thing you do is wait for your bus at your resort. This is always a prime picture taking opportunity. See the excitment on our faces?!
Yay!! We are past the tunstyles and waiting for the opening ceremonies to begin. If you ever go to Magic kingdom, this is a MUST-DO! It is very magical :) After they open the gates, the chaos begins....you RUN to your first ride. It's sorta like a rite of passage and not for the weak of heart. I have seen people get trampled!
You also MUST take a picture in front of the castle. We always offer to take one for someone else and then ask them if they will take ours....works every time :)
One of our favorites....Haunted Mansion. Every time we come here, we agree that the outside of this house is VERY cool and how neat it would be to build a house that looks just like it.
Here we are in our Doom Buggy on the ride.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of our favorite rides. We met up with Doug and Emily (who live in Orlando). Doug and Joe used to fly for Great Lakes together. Neither one of them had actually been to Disney before, so I got to be the tour guide.

Mmmmmmmm.....Dole Pineapple Whip.....my favorite Disney treat!
For dinner we took the monorail over to the Polynesian resort to eat at Kona cafe. Here, fruity drinks are a MUST!

Westside.....Goofy!
On this trip, we decided we should actually watch the nightly firework show, Wishes. I am glad we did. It was so neat. I actually got teary eyed!

My favorite rides in order:
1. Space Mountain
2. Splash Mountain
3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
4. Haunted Mansion
5. Pirates of the Caribbean
6. Peter Pan's Magical Flight

Let the Magic Begin....Disney Day 1

Yay!! We are off to Disney. Here we are sitting at the airport for our early flight...we both got first class...yes! Oh, and Joe called Mickey from his banana phone.
When we got to our hotel, Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, this guy was waiting to give us beads...a super fun way to welcome us.

Here is our cute room and bathroom. We loved the sinks, tiles, and wainscoting.
They even made a towel Mickey on the bed...almost like being on a cruise.
This was the view from our room. I really liked the hotel. It felt like I was in New Orleans...I guess that is the point.
Our room....yay! Here I am getting ready to relax by the pool.
We walked over to the sister resort Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside for lunch and to explore.
Here is where we ate lunch....chicken for me, burger for Joe.....fries all around. This ended up being our regular orders for the weekend. I think I ate chicken 3 times...once a day!!
Here is the view of our hotel from the river. Yes, there was a river that connected our hotel to Downtown Disney. There was a water taxi that brought you there through the forest....very relaxing :)
Here is the pool. We did not use the slide but it was good people watching. We swam for a little while and then laid out/read our books like old people.
Here is Joe with his VERY manly mango margarita...haha!! You will notice a lot of pics of Joe since I took most the pictures of the trip.
Joe again with a alligator statue at our resort.
We met up with my Aunt Pam and Uncle Joe (big Joe) at a restaurant in Downtown Disney called Paradiso 37. It was Mexican and very delicious.

No trip to Downtown Disney would be complete without a visit to Ghiradelli Square for some yummy ice cream creations. Joe and I split an amazing peanut butter and chocolate num-num. I think you can tell by the look on Joe's face that we liked it.
