Colorful Shabby Chic Wreath Tutorial

So I saw some really pretty wreaths that they made at Whatever Craft Weekend. I knew that I wanted to try and make one similar. I went to Jo-Anns and found a wooden word. I spray painted it yellow.

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a straw wreath using a 40% off coupon. I also picked up and 1/8 of a yard of several different printed fabrics. They were all on sale for 40% off. I gathered some scraps of burlap I had, some straight pins, and various ribbons and trim.

Here are all my supplies gathered up.

First I alternated strips of burlap and different printed fabric. Instead of gluing them down, I just used straight pins. I liked doing that so I could change things around if I wanted to. I was surprised on how little fabric I ended up using! After I got the burlap and fabric on, it was time to decorate. I just gathered some scrap pom-poms, ric rac scraps, ribbons, etc. I also pinned on a paper doily.

I hot glued my wooden word and some fabric flowers and I was done! I am really pleased with how it turned out. It's so bright and cheerful :)

Please let me know if you have any questions.
