Two Weeks Old (almost a week late)

Sally: Two Weeks

*Joe and I cannot believe that it has been two whole weeks since Sally entered the world. Parenthood is awesome but we are super tired. Luckily, Joe is a big help to me and wants to be as involved as possible. We take turns getting up at night and Joe loves to change her diaper and feed her. He even takes her sometimes so Mommy can get to bed early.

Loves: riding in the car, being swaddled, eating (a lot!), snuggling in the bed with mommy and daddy, making silly faces, getting kisses, napping in the swing

Eating: Breastfeeding is going better, but for everyones sanity, we are still supplementing with formula at night (and in the middle of the night)...and I am at a place where I am OK with it. I have to do what is best for Sally and me :)

Sleeping: Sally has not been sleeping as well this week as she did last week. She is only sleeping for a few hours at a time. It is hard staying up with her in the middle of the night, but I am making it. Joe and I have been taking turns feeding her and trying to get her back to sleep. I am so ready for her to sleep longer stretches and I am up for suggestions if you have them. I know that we should not try and sleep train for a few months.

Fun Facts: Sally went out to dinner with us for the first time. We went to Firebirds and she slept the entire time...yay! She also went to Costco, Pottery Barn, and on a walk around the block. She likes being outside in the sunshine. You are so strong...already holding your head up!!

Mommy Moments: I am feeling almost completly back to normal. Breastfeeding is going MUCH better. I am so happy that you like your swing and like to nap. Mommy is able to rest and get things done during the day.

Firsts: First time out to eat (at Firebirds), Sally went to Poppy's and met Rufus (Poppy's dog), pooped on the changing table while we were changing you

Here are some pictures for your viewing enjoying enjoyment:

The Happiest Baby on the Block saved my life with the 5 S's...I think Beth let you have hers. It might take a few times but I swear that worked to get Nolan to sleep when he would fight it. And of course the magic swing :) Loved all her pics...she's already growing! Oh and I would say keep on going out with her. I have been going out with Nolan since he was young, and he loves it.

I'm so happy that you are feeling more like yourself. I went through the same thing. Sally is precious.

Happy Friday!

We have been doing Baby Wise basically since week 2 and it's worked great for us! Emmie sleeps 8-10 hours per night and has been doing so since week 4. Sally is adorable!!

Awww- she is just so adorable! I love the picture of her sleeping with your hubby- there is nothing sweeter in the world! I know those first few weeks when they wake up so often are so hard but I bet she'll start stretching out her sleep sessions a little bit longer over the next few weeks. Hang in there Momma!
