Five On Friday

{one}
Last night Joe and I attended my MOPS group annual "date night" called Mops and Pops. They provide childcare and there was a dinner and silent auction. We had such a great time. There was a couple there who spoke on the 5 Love Languages. I have read the book before but its always nice to have a refresher course. The couple said they liked to go to Mexico every year...just the two of them. They reasoned it was cheaper than a divorce. I agree. If every married couple could go to an all inclusive for a week once a year, I think the divorce rate would go WAY down.

I think its safe to say that Joe was paying attention. When we got home, I went to put Sally to bed. When I came downstairs, he had run me a nice hot bath complete with music, candles and my new magazine. Love him!

This is a little set up we have at the top of the stairs. The yellow piece came from Target. I have it filled with books and puzzles/games. Sally loves to sit in front of it and read/do puzzles.

I am loving this spring weather, seeing all of the daffodils blooming, etc. I am in full "let's get ready for Easter" mode over here. I have Sally's basket all made and I am working on Joe's.

I also whipped up this super easy and cute vintage book page bunny banner. I have a few more projects planned for this week.

We have been having practice Easter egg hunts with Sally. I want her to be really good at finding eggs so she can get us lots of candy at the local hunts. :)

Sally climbed out of her crib this week. SCARY!! We decided to take the side off of her crib until I can find her a big girl bed that I like. Its been a transition. She is fine playing in the bed during the day, but when it is time to go to bed at night, she wants you to lay with her. We basically pretend to be asleep until she goes to sleep and then sneak out. She has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming and then we have to start the whole process over again. I am exhausted! Any tips??

I booked our trip to Disney this week and made all of my dining reservations. We are going in September and I am SO excited!! I am a Disney agent and my services are 100% free. Let me know if you would like a free quote.

Working On My Fitness

With a beach trip less than two months away. I am stepping up my fitness routine. My goal is to loose 10 pounds....I'm down 4 already! Here is my workout plan for the next few weeks.

Monday: TBS
Tuesday: Zumba
Wednesday: Treadmill or long walk outside
Thursday: Dance Fusion
Friday: TBS
Saturday: Dance Fusion
Sunday: Rest Day

I also want to try and take Sally on walks around our neighborhood, up to the park, etc. if they weather permits. The goal is to JUST KEEP MOVING! I can already tell a difference in my energy level, the way my clothes are fitting and my sleep is so much better.

I also made this super easy smoothie almost everyday this week. Its basically frozen berries from Kroger (raspberries, blueberries and blackberries) mixed with Strawberry/Kiwi Crystal Light...put it all in a blender until smooth...so yummy!

Sally's Play Kitchen

This was Sally's big Christmas gift this year and I wanted to share some more pictures. Joe build this kitchen using some plans I found on pinterest. He made a few of his own modifications.

This is probably Sally's favorite place to play right now and I have fun too :)

The little shopping cart came from Pottery Barn Kids.

Most of the food is Melissa and Doug. The eggs in the crate came from Pottery Barn Kids. The little toaster is from Amazon.

The white table is Pottery Barn Kids and the chairs are form IKEA.

The faucet came from Amazon. The sink is actually a dog bowl. The knobs on the stove are from Hobby Lobby and the "burners" are wooden basketballs from Jo-Anns. I spray painted the backs with silver spray paint.

I love this kitchen so much! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sally's Closet Reveal

Ever since we moved into our house, I had plans for Sally's closet. It took a back burner. There were more important things to do...like the kitchen and bathroom. Over the last few weeks, Joe has been working on building organizers for her closet and today I am so excited to show you the finished product.

When we started, there was basically a bar going across the closet for clothes, a weird built in shoe shelf near the bottom and a shelf on the top. No organization whats-so-ever! I had been looking at Pinterest for inspiration and these are the pictures that I kept coming back to.

I showed them to Joe and he came up with a plan. Since he travels for work, it took longer to finish than I would have liked but I love the final product. Thanks Joe!!

Here are some progress pictures:

And here is what it looks like today:

The pink and green bins on the top shelf came from Target. The pink and green circle metal tubs are from Target/Hobby Lobby last year. The green polka dot baskets came from Target several years ago. The pink polka dot laundry basket and small pink polka dot fabric bins came from Home Goods a few weeks ago.

Please let me know if you have any questions ;)

Book Page Bunny Tutorial

Hey Girls! Today is the first day of Spring. That means it is officially time to get my craft on! First up, an upcycled bunny. I picked up this beauty at Goodwill for 99 cents.

I had seen some cute bunnies on Pinterest and wanted to try and make my own.

Here is what you need: a bunny, Modge Podge, foam brush, an old book. Cut strips out old book pages. Slather the modge podge right onto the bunny (in sections). Lay on the book strip (you may have to cut/tear in order to fit around the curves). I ended up going ahead and cutting several different sizes. The goal is to use the paint brush and keep your hands clean, but that is impossible. I put the modge podge on with my brush and then the strip. Then I put on another coat of modge podge. I used my fingers to smooth everything out.

Keep going until every inch of your little bunny is closed. Make sure you put a top coat of Modge Podge over the strips of paper. Let it dry and clean your hands. For fun, I tied a little burlap ribbon around my bunny's neck. I love the way it turned out. I have another bunny that I picked up last week that I plan to do this to as well.

Five on Friday

Hell Lovelies....hope you had a great week. After 3 snow days here we are finally scheduled to get some sun this weekend. Yay!

{one}
I was so excited to snag this ADORABLE Minnie bubble from a Facebook auction this week...perfect for our Disney trip this Fall.

{two}
Speaking of Disney...yes we are going in September and I am booking our trip next week. You have to do these things early. Our dining reservation window opens up the week after that. Why is it that I am so good helping others plan their trip but when it comes to my own I get stressed out? If you are considering going, let me know. I am a Disney agent and would LOVE to help you...and I offer free Disney giftcards with qualified bookings :)

{three}
Joe was gone almost all week...so we are stuff here with the closet. Who knows when he is going to paint it...ugh! Doesn't he know I need to organize?!

 {four}
The Easter stuff is out at Target...that means I can finally start decorating the house. I have a great Easter board on Pinterest calling my name!

{five}
Sally helped me make cookies last week. By helping I mean she got to stand on a kitchen chair, eat chocolate chips and watch me stir. She felt like such a big girl. Looks like Joe's next project will be a kitchen stool for her...one where she cant fall out :) I hope she loves to cook with me!
