Weekend Wrap-Up!!

Joe and I had a wonderful weekend! On Friday after school I got a spray tan....not the kind where you stand in the crazy booth, but the kind where a real live person sprays you. I had bought a Groupon for "3 for 1" and I have three weddings coming up so I thought.....why not?! I was nervous, but I LOVE the way it turned out. I came home and Joe started calling me Snooki....what?! I wasn't THAT ORANGE!!

I kept saying "Cabs are here!!"....haha!

I was also happy on Friday because I came home to a clean house. Our WONDERFUL housekeeper comes every other Friday and it's money well spent!! We went to dinner with our sweet friends to Russo's to eat delicious pizza.

We got 2 huge pizzas and split the cost three ways....plus I had a coupon....but one pizza get one free....so in the end we each only paid $13.50 per couple....for pizza, wine and beer!!! I've got MAD couponing skills!

On Saturday, I went and got my nails done and went shopping. That night we had a wedding for one of my co-workers downtown. The ceremony was at a beautiful Catholic church and the reception was at the train station downtown. Joe and I were all dressed up and I only took one picture!! You can't even see my dress!! Boo!!

On Sunday Joe and I took at 10 mile bike ride on the Greenline. The weather was a little yucky, but we made the best of it. See my new white bike that I got for Christmas....love it!!

The Adjustment Bureau

Last night Joe and I were lucky enough to go to see an advance screening of "The Adjustment Bureau" staring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. It was REALLY good and made you wonder if something like this really exists. I personally believe that we all have a "master plan" laid out for us. This movie makes you think :) I highly recommend it!

I Went SHOPPING!!

I went shopping this past weekend and got a lot of new dresses!! As If!!

I got this nautical inspired dress from F21. I love the rope belt!

My "Sucky List"

I'm not perfect....never claimed to be. Some people think I have it all together....guess what? A lot of the time....I don't! Now don't get me wrong, I am very organized and a super planner, but there are some thing that I am no good at..in fact, I suck at them!

*I am really bad at putting clothes away....I will fold them but then they lay in piles on the floor of my closet.

*I am really bad at paying attention to people when they are talking about something I'm not interested in.

*I not do act adult when plans get changed....I pout. Yes, full on adult pouting!

*I am REALLY bad about keeping my business taxes up to date.

*I am not good at drawing...but my students say....."Wow! You are an artist!".

*I pick my cuticles and chew on my finger nails all the time!

*I say "like" a lot....it drives Joe C-R-A-Z-Y!!!

*I am bad at making the bed....Joe knows how to do the "hospital corners".

*I am bad at remembering peoples names....like 2 minutes after meeting them.

*I am bad at tying pretty ribbon bows.

*I am bad about filing papers...I have stacks of things that need to be filed.

*I am bad with not eating candy....it calls me!

Top Two Tuesday!!

Today's topic on "Top Two Tuesday" is the top two things that your parents taught you about money. Luckily, I had VERY good role models for learning to manage money. I had my first savings account by the time I was 8 and had started saving money in my piggy bank by the time I could walk. Money was never a problem in my house until my dad was laid off from his high paying job when I was about 10. Life changed....frivolous things were a thing of the past. I started babysitting to buy the things that I wanted. I got my first "real" job when I was 15 at Chick-fil-a and I haven't stopped working since. I paid for my own gas, clothes, fun money, etc. I was never the kid asking my parents for money. I worked my way through high school....quitting my cheer squad so I could work more and get a car/pay for gas/etc. I worked through college paying for sorority/clothes/food. When I got my big girl teaching job, I moved back home and saved A BUNCH of money that I was able to use for a down payment on my current home. All that to say...I am good with money...but I LOVE to buy things :)

1. My parents taught me that money doesn't grow on trees....you MUST work for it! And SAVE it!! If my parents hadn't been about saving money, who knows what would have happened to us when my dad got laid off. It's important to have $$ in savings !!

2. Don't be scared to spend money on the "good stuff". While Joe and I like to save money....we like to spend it more! We have NO PROBLEM with traveling, buying good sheets, eating good food, etc.

Life is too short....and you can't take it with you, so also enjoy your hard work and live a little!

Today is Lindsey's birthday.....aka Baby Linz. She and I go WAY back...you see we are cousins and I have known her since she was born. Although she is two years younger than me, we are best friends!
