Junior League Merry Marketplace Preview Party

This was my second year to do Preview Party. It is really fun and I am honored to be among some of Memphis's best restaurants! My cousin Meg came and helped me. I was soooo glad to have her there! I gave away a lot of cupcakes and got some really positive feedback. Here is what people were saying:
*"Oh....I have heard about this place!"
*"Everyone told me that I HAVE to come over here and try these cupcakes!"
*"These are so much better than Muddy's!"
*"This is the best thing that I have EVER put into my mouth!"
*"I had these at a party last week...sooo good!"
*"I can't wait to order some of these for ______."

I was so happy to hear everyone say such good things about my num-nums....now does anyone want to give me some money for my cupcake shop?

Halloween Happy's!

I made some cute Halloween Happy's for my peeps at work. If you have never had the glorious combination of candy corn and dry roasted peanuts....then you are missing out...YUM-O!

My Treasures!!

BINGO, BINGO....I call BINGO!! I had great luck at the Nashville Flea Market last weekend. I had a list and I am happy to report that I got about 75% of the items that I was searching for...yay me! I really wanted an old BINGO card and I found the one above. The guy sold it to me for $3...pretty good....that is until I spotted a WHOLE SET of old BINGO cards on the $1 table. So, of course I had to buy those too. I am not sure what I will use them for. I just think they are nifty!
I also wanted an old seltzer bottle. I talked the guy down to $20 for this one. I think it will look neat on a bookcase or table. I L-O-V-E old locker baskets. I think they are so neat! I found this one for $15. I wish I would have bought 2 more....next time! I plan to put these on a shelf in the kitchen and store cookbooks in it.
My dad wanted me to look for an old Folgers coffee can...and he was specific about what he wanted....jackpot! So glad I found it for him for $10.
Me and Joe love dragoflies, so when I saw this little guy for 50 cents, I could not pass him up. He might look cute on top of a book.
The vintage bottle tops were 25 cents each. I bought 8 for a grand total of $2. My plan is to make these into magnets for our kitchen chalkboard.
I found this adorable blue fan for the guest room. It's vintage and still works! I talked the guy down to $15 for it....neat to clean it though.
A vintage Coke crate....I have heard that the yellow ones are the best! $1o..yay!

Antiquing with Special K

Kristy and I hit up several antique stores on Sunday morning before I left to come home. One of the store was beautiful and exactly my style. The girl who owns it is actually one of Kristy's old childhood friends. I loved these old grain sacks....one of them even said Memphis, TN but I was not feeling the $25 price tag.

How cute is this lamp?! I could make it...no room for it though. Maybe my next house :)

I loved the look of necklaces hanging on burlap frames.
I might make one of these for my closet...

I was soooo in LOVE with these old theatre chairs.
I really want some, but I have nowhere to put them :(

I am trying to talk Kristy into going to the endless yard sale next May....imagine all the treasures we would find!

Love this!

Love this...that's all :)

Girls Weekend....Nashville Flea Market Style!

Last weekend I drove up to Nashville on a beautiful fall day to see two of my best girls, Kristy and Natalie. It was Girls Weekend and much needed! The leaves were beautiful and I had to stop and get a shot of this bridge.
I brought treats for the girls, cause that's what I do :)
We woke up early and dropped Zane, Kristy's trusty boxer, off at Doggie Daycare. Then....we headed to Nashville for the "Big One"! I went with a list and found almost everything on it.
Kristy got a great deal on this old window :) and Natalie was a trooper, like usual.
Here's my pile of treasures....pictures coming soon!
Here we are posing....it was COLD!
After a delicious lunch of Mexican....and the funny sign below that said, "Thank you for share with us!", Natalie asked what was next on the agenda. I told her that we were going to Trader Joes. She was like, "what's that". I said, "It's this really neat grocery store"....haha, she was like, "Seriously, we are going to a grocery store?!"
I told her it's not JUST a grocery store....it's WONDERFUL!! We all got a free bag because we told them it was our first visit :) I even got some stocking stuffers!

After that we did some shopping in Green Hills and Downtown Franklin. Kristy decided I needed a touch up on my make-up!
I love Girls Weekends....the next one is at Natalie's in January!

Spooky Time With The Moske's

Here are a few pictures from around our house...more to come! I love the dining room table. It is just a white tablecloth with a runner I got the day after Halloween last year (on sale from Target). This year, I found cute pirate plates, black crows, and glittered skulls at the Dollar Tree. I found some neat black and silver candle holders 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby. They will do double duty at my Twilight theed party in November. I had the big glass hurricanes. They are great, because you can change out what is inside to fit the theme. Inside is some black sand that I got at Hobby Lobby and some silver taper candles (also from HL, from the Christmas candle aisle). I found some black "napkins" at HL too. Really, they are from the bandana aisle but they work great as napkins :) In the center is a silver tray that I had filled with white candles and silver, clear and purple stones from HL. I hope this encourages you to spookify your table.

Each year at work, we "Boo" each other. If you are familiar with this, you put a treat and a Boo! sign on 2 doors. You also include directions for them to do the same. The idea is to get as many people "Boo'd" as possible. Here are a my cute little Boo! treats.
Here is a table in the living room. I found these letters to spell out BOO at an antique mall a few weeks ago. They are my new obsession. I love the look of these old printers blocks.

Go Speed Racer Go....

Joe ran the Louisville, KY 1/2 Marathon this past weekend. His friend, Mike, ran the WHOLE thing. Unfortunately, I was not able to be there, but lucky for me, Mike's girlfriend, Laura, took a bunch of pictures. The top picture shows the boys before the race. Yikes, it is still dark outside.
And they're off!! Can you find Joe? Kinda like "Where's Waldo?".
Here is my hub-hub running!
And here he is crossing the finish line. He finished in under 2 hours. YAY!!
Mike did an awesome job too...he came in 5th overall and 1st in his age bracket...very nice! (say it like Borat). The boys were both tired afterwards, but lucky for them, they had BEER!!

Pink and Green Cupcake Tower

Last weekend I did a cupcake tower for a little girls first birthday. The colors were pink and green polka dots.....oh, my favorite! The mother of the birthday girl had ordered invites and cupcake toppers from etsy. I think it turned out sooo cute!

My Latest Deals

Yesterday, I took my fall quota to Repeat Boutique. I also managed to spend some money...well a gift card really :) Here is Hank checking out my loot: a terracotta pot for $1.00, a really cute white flower bowl for $3.00, Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs for 50 cents, 8 tan linen napkins for $2.00, a glass water carafe for 50 cents and three cute white and red polka dot place mats for $3.00. These would be so cute for a child's party. They remind me of mushrooms and gnomes. I also got a roll of silver wrapping paper for 50 cents and a picture frame for $5 that hold three pictures. I am going to spray paint it black.

The Prefect Smell of Fall

OK, I am LOVING this new scent from B&BW. I bought this candle a few weeks ago and I already need another one. Everyone who comes over comments on how good it smells and asks me where I got it. Next time you go to the mall, check it out.

Flashback Friday!

Awww...this picture brings back such good memories. This was the summer of 2005...my first summer visit to Minnesota and right before we got engaged. In fact, Joe had brought the ring to MN to show off to everyone and I had no idea :) Joe took me for a ride in the airplane that his family owns and we went to visit his dad "up north". We had only been dating for about 6 months, but were already so in
L-O-V-E.

We are in print....

Joe and I are one of the featured couples in the magazine, The Nest, this month. We are featured with other young couples who had fun Halloween costumes. Well if that wasn't already exciting enough...a friend sent me a test today that we were also on msn.com. How fun!
Here is the link:

If you are not familiar with thenest.com and The Nest magazine, it is the step after theknot.com and before thebump.com. They are all really cute sites that are also really helpful. It's geared toward young married couples. We were really excited to be apart of it.

Happy Fall!

Time to bust out the Uggs...it's Fall Ya'll! This is my favorite season of the year...here are some fall things that make me happy :)
Cute Pumpkins and fun ways to display them....still need to buy these :)
Yummy apple crisp....nothing better on a fall night!
Taking a nice walk when the leaves are changing...one of my favorite ways to relax.
YUM! Apple cider....give it to e hot or cold, I do not care. I LOVE it! I think I get this from my dad, who always had to have this treat in the fall.
