Kidstown Consignment Sale

It's officially consignment sale season here in Memphis and I am ready. I had all of my fall/winter stuff tagged and ready to go last year and got stuck in Minnesota on my drop off day. So it has been sitting in the guest room closet...just waiting. I added a bunch through the year too...so I have a pretty big stack to bring next week. One of the biggest and best consignment sales in the area starts next week. I am talking about Kidstown

Find them on Facebook here.

Here are some pictures from the last sale.

Yup...they have a lot of stuff!!
If you want to check out what I got at the last sale, look here....amazing deals!!

Want to consign? Its easy and yes, you still have time. Just go here and sign up. Follow all of the directions and you will be fine. You also need to choose a time to drop your stuff off.

We need a few hard-working, strong, sturdy, healthy men to help!
We need you to help move or load large items, monitor the floor, checking receipts on large items at the door, etc.
If you are able to work this shift, your wife, sister, mother or female of your choice can shop the sale early! Register here!
Can't volunteer? No problem. The public sale starts on Thursday at 10 am. There will be plenty left!!
Now here are my tips on shopping at Kidstown:
*Get there early. You will be surprised how many people are there and in line when you arrive. The early bird gets the worm!
*Bring your own bag or basket. I thought the ladies pulling a laundry basket around were crazy. Now I do it too. I attach an old belt to a laundry basket. It's easy to fill up and drag around. If that's not your thing, bring a big reusable bag. IKEA makes the best ones!
*Make a list of what you need. Its very overwhelming shopping at consignment sales. There is so much to look at, its easy to get distracted. I like to keep a list on my phone of what we need and prioritize the areas of the sale that I will hit first.
*All sales are final, so look over each item for stains, tears, cracks, etc.
*Try not to buy something just because it's a good deal. Put it all in your basket/bag and go back through it before you check out. Ask yourself "do I really love this/need this/etc.". If the answer is no, put it back.
*Bring a pen! Lots of the bigger items have special tags that you need to fill out, so a pen comes in handy.

Let me know if you are planning to consign or shop with Kidstown. Maybe I will see you there!

Recent Happenings and Random Thoughts

{one}
I realized its time to start thinking about Sally's fall clothes. Our favorite gold shoes from last year (Target) are too small now. These ebay finds are almost the exact same shoe and I got a great deal. Yay!

{two}
Joe and I had our first parenting argument this week over Sally's bedtime routine. Since he is gone so much (for work), I put Sally to bed a lot by myself. We have a routine...playtime, bath, books, snuggles and bed. When he does it he likes to sometimes snuggle her downstairs in front of the TV. I think he should try to keep up the routine we have going. He told me to post it on FB to see what people said. It was nice seeing everyones opinions and I think he finally realized that yes, routines are important. He doesn't have to do it EXACTLY my way...but coming downstairs and turning on the TV is just a bad idea. I am really thankful that I have such a awesome hubby who loves to snuggle with our sweet girl.

{three}
I am absolutely loving my Fitbit Flex. Does anyone else have one? If so, we should totally be "friends" on there. It has really helped me accountable for my activity each day. I also love how it hooks up with My Fitness Pal. It has been a game changer for me.

{four}
Someone has decided that they love Frozen now...finally! I decided to order this dress off ebay for her. It was only $10 with free shipping. It comes from China, so it may take awhile but I am excited. Here is the link in case you want one of your own: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141338587693

4th of July

We started celebrating the night before. We had a wonderful time at Pops in the Park at Levitt Shell. They passed out flags and Sally had so much fun!

That night I got the house all festive.

I put up the reclaimed wooden flag that I painted.

I also decorated our breakfast area....flag banner from Hobby Lobby, a free printable from Pinterest, Sally's flag that she painted, red and white polka dot fabric and a mason jar full of flags...easy peasy!

Here is a close up of Sally's flag she painted for our craft this week.

I also hung the new wreath that I made.

On the 4th we had a great breakfast. I made homemade waffles with blueberries and strawberries and whipped cream. I also added some sprinkles for Sally.

 That afternoon we went to a pool party. I made dessert...Carmelitas and Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispy Treats. They were both really yummy!

I also made guacamole.

After the pool party we went to my Aunt's house to celebrate some more and watch fireworks.

Sally loved the fireworks and called them "sparkles". :)
