XOXO!!

Wow...I realized that I started this post a week ago and never finished publishing it....sorry so late! Although Joe and celebrated V-day on the Saturday before, we did not exchange gifts until the actual day. When Joe got home from work in the morning he gave me my card. We always make each other home made cards and his always ROCK! This year was no exception!

If you can't read the picture, it says "What do you and a midget riding an ostrich have in common?"

I
"You both make me happy every time I see you!"

haha!! Love it!! And yes, he drew it!!
Inside the card is one of my favorite gifts of all time...the Holiday's Florist year of flowers card!! You get a bouquet every year. I love having fresh flowers in the house so this makes me sooo happy! I had this last year and you can read about some of the flowers I got here, here, and here.
I was SHOCKED when they called me down to the office at school to pick up flowers. Aren't they so Springy and pretty?! The card said that they were form Joe and Hank :) Of course Hank had to inspect them when I brought them home.
When I came home form worked he gave me this watch that I have been wanting. It keeps track of your calories burned and heart rate.
This is the card that I made for Joe. It was a big card with three little cards glued on the front. When you open up each card, there is a love quote inside.
I also got Joe this iron gym...now if I can only do a pull-up...
and a Greece shirt, 2 pairs of fun socks, and a wheelbarrow.

Look at these pretty cupcakes I made too!

Flashback Friday!

Today's "Flashback Friday" is taking us back to the summer of 2006 after Joe and I got married. We took a quick weekend trip to NYC to attend a benefit for a dear friend that passed away. Now it just so happens that this benefit was held at the race track in New Jersey (only a train ride away). We were so excited when our horse won!!
We also walked across the Brooklyn Bridge,

mastered the subway system,
and visited the Natural History Museum.

Love These Dessert Tables!

Fill In The Blank Friday!

1. I am a lover of Animals. A loyal friend. A wife, daughter, and mother to a fur-baby. A blog-stalker. A thrifter, crafter, scrapbooker. An outspoken, Christian, Republican. A ZTA. A Junior League Member. A lover of all things burlap, pink & green, and happy. A teacher, baker, and avid recycler.

2. The bravest thing I've ever done was taken care of my mother . Of course there was no question that I would do this, but is was still extremely hard.

3. I feel prettiest when I am getting my picture taken. It's really too bad I am not tall and skinny, because I am a HAM in front of the camera.

4. Something that keeps me awake at night is to-do lists, worrying about dogs that I need to help save, thinking about my mom.

5. My favorite meal in the entire world is French bread, a yummy salad and some sort of chicken or shrimp.

6. The way to my heart is through kindness and love.....and maybe chocolate :) .

7. I would like to go on a thrifting/junking trip across the South.

31 cent Scoop Night!!

One of my favorite cheap date nights is coming up. Go ahead and mark April 27th on your calendar because it is 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins. Yes, you heard me right. 31 cents for each scoop of ice cream. Last year Joe and I walked up to Baskin Robbins and took advantage of this. Yes, we have a Baskin Robbins about 1.5 miles from our house which is terribly convenient, but we usually walk so that makes it like the ice cream part never happened....right?!

Kindergarten

I thought some of my teacher friends in the blog world would like to see some of the things that we have doing in my K classroom. Enjoy :)

First up we have Space Week. The students ordered the planets on black paper and then I gave them some of the cheapo star stickers to decorate with.

Here is the bulletin board that we made. They colored the astronauts and I put their real picture for the face. Super cute!!

Next up we have Valentine's Day.
We have been reading and enjoying all of the Olivia books so we decided to make Olivia's and decorate our door. I think it turned out cute.

I let the students write somthing that they loved on a sentence strip and then they drew a picture of themselves and glued it in a heart.

In January we made a Snowman Glyph.
For President's Day, the kids made George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
