The Truth Is Out!!

The Bachelor started last night and yes, it's a guilty pleasure of mine and I am not ashamed to admit it. Of course the train wreck of girls did not disappoint. I cannot wait to see who he picks....but I do not have to. RealitySteve.com is going to tell me. I have been following this blog for the past 2 years and he is ALWAYS right. He has someone from the inside telling his all the secrets....and I am listening! Check out the site for spoilers and the inside scoop! Who do you want to win?

Menu Mondays

One of my resolutions for the new year was to cook at least 4 nights a week. So....in order to do that, I figure meal planning would be helpful :) After scoring through cookbooks and looking at my plans/activities for the week, I have come up with the following schedule. OK...so it's not exactly 4 nights, but it's a start. It's 4 nights of planning :)

Monday: First day back to school, Pilates at 4 pm, first night of the Bachelor....enough said....leftover chili is it :)
Tuesday: Yoga at 7 pm-thaw out chicken tortilla soup and eat with tortilla chips
Wednesday: Kung Pao chicken with white rice
Thursday: Zumba 7 pm-leftovers or pick up Taco Bell Fresco style tacos
Friday: Joe is home :) Chicken breasts with roasted red peppers, lemon roasted asparagus and Portuguese punched potatoes
Saturday: I have a wedding that night to set up for, but Joe and I are planning a date night for between the delivery/set up of the cupcakes downtown and the pick up later in the night.
Sunday: not sure yet...

2010 Resolutions

Happy New Year!!
It's the start of a new year...and you know what THAT means...resolutions!
Here are mine (in no particular order):

*Keep a food/calorie journal. I am using the wonderful website: www.livestrong.com to do this without headaches. It is very user friendly :)

*Save $ and get rid of ALL of our debt....we do not have that much, but it gives me the heebie jeebies when I think of it.

*Try to make it to church more.

*Cook dinner at least 4 nights a week.

*Keep track of my grocery bills to see how much I actually spend per month.

*Take more pictures!

*Find more time to scrapbook. It's one of my most favorite things and I hardly have time for it anymore :(

*Put things away right after I use them.....I am famous for "clutter".

*Work out at least 4 times a week. This can include walks, trips to the gym or classes.

*Check some items of my travel list. My goals this year include Italy, snowboarding trip, camping with Joe (can you believe that we have never been together?!), NYC (again!), Chicago, and Disney for a day. There are more, but I am trying to be realistic.

*Loose 20 pounds. I might be gaining a bump this year, so I want to be in the best shape possible!

*Gain a baby bump.....maybe?!?

*Simplify my life....get rid of stuff I do not need, get organized, clean out the attic, etc.

Bring it on 2010...Bring it!!

Mr. and Mrs.

My brother and his lovely wife, Michelle, got married on Dec. 19 in Atlanta, GA. We had a very busy and for me, an emotionally draining weekend. The bridesmaids tea was at the cutest little place and we had "high tea". It seriously made me want to have a tea party!
I did a candy buffet for the rehearsal dinner.
Here are the tables. I did a square lime green plate with a black and white polka dot napkin.
For drinks, we had old fashioned sodas in glass bottles.
Michelle with some of her bets friends, and below Drew and Michelle at the rehearsal.

The Varsity (an Atlanta institution) catered. They brought their van and you had to go up and order what you wanted.

All of my dads sisters made the trip from Memphis and Orlando, FL.
As a thank you gift, Drew and Michelle got us a cute little pottery rabbit. We named him Francisco :) Say it like Will Ferrell in "Elf".
After the rehearsal dinner, we went to a local pub for some drinks....Drew had about 5 shots!

Michelle getting ready

The band at the reception was awesome....a 20 piece swing band!
My dad got them funny hats for their honeymoon in Montana
Drew and Michelle cutting their beautiful cake
the groomsmen decorated the car.....real nice guys!
Michelle's dad and my dad blowing bubbles
Joe and I took our parents to breakfast at "The Flying Biscuit". The dads were not pleased with the meat selection....turkey bacon and chicken sausage...
Of course I had to stop at Trader Joe's before heading back to Memphis.

The Past Decade!

In the past decade, I have (not necessarily in order)...

1) Met my Soul Sista, Kristy in college
2) Graduated from college
3) Got a job teaching Kindergarten
4) Fell in LOVE and got married!
5) Bought a house
6) Traveled to Disney World 2 times and Disneyland
7) Went to Greece and Thailand
8) Went to NYC (3 times), the Hamptons, Destin, Vegas, St. Martin, Atlanta, Aspen, Denver
9) Road trip down the southern California Coast
10) Took a cruise to the Southern Caribbean
11) Had multiple fun weekends with my best college girls
12) Experienced Minnesota in all it's glory...several times :)
13) Watched my mother die and my little brother get married
14) Started my cupcake business

I'm sure there were other things, but these are just the highlights.
What did you do in the past decade?
