Rehearsal Dinner Ideas

My little brother is getting married in December. The Varsity in Atlanta is catering and we wanted to do something fun. I am doing a candy buffet too! I am trying to stick to candy that you remember eating (and LOVING) as a kid. Here are some pictures that gave me ideas:

I wish our budget allowed a photo booth...how cute and fun would that be?!
I REALLY like the red with black and white polka dots. I am 99% sure that is the look I am going for. I already got sqaure red dinner plates and black and white polka dot napkins!

Nashville Flea Market...Here I Come!

In two weeks, I am driving up to Nashville to stay with my BFF, Kristy for "Girls Weekend". I am sooo excited to go to the Nashville Flea Market. Kristy goes at least once a month and is always talking about it. I have a few things on my "to find for cheap" list and I am hoping to get some of those items checked off. Here is my list so far.
I am loving vintage flash cards. The right ones look so cute in a frame.

Old skeleton keys....I do not know exactly what I am going to do with them...maybe just put them in jar. I have a few and I want more
Any big metal/wood/galvanized/plastic letters. I am looking for M's but also other letters for some projects that I have in mind.
Old grain sacks. I have seen these used to make everything from pillows to table runners...the possibilities are endless!
Vintage seltzer bottles. I just think it would look neat to have one on a bookcase or something.
An old fan for the guest room. I do not care if it works, only if it's cheap and looks good.
Old locker room baskets. I have a few ideas for these....maybe in the pantry to hold snacks, mixes, etc., maybe in the laundry room for single socks or stain removers, maybe in the kitchen on a shelf. I would love to find about three of them.
Vintage milk bottles with a carrier. I REALLY want one of these. I have found the bottles and I have found the carrier, but they are NEVER together and I never know if I will ever find a set. I want to use these as decoration on the kitchen shelf and and as the occasional flower vase. One flower in each jar looks adorable sitting there on a table!
Vintage soda crate. I have NO IDEA what to do with one of these....but I like them. Maybe it would work to hold magazines or something?
Vintage soda bottle caps. I plan to put a magnet behind and use these on my magnetic chalkboard in the kitchen...so cute!

Vintage letterpress printers block. I have been loving these for a while. I want to try and spell out "MOSKE". I found the "MOS" the other day at an antique mall here in Memphis, but I need the "KE". I also want the letters to spell out "LOVE". I am not REALLY sure why this last part was underlined....

Guest Bedroom Inspiration

I have been wanting to do more to the guest room...all the while knowing that it will only be a guest room for maybe 2 more years (at the most)! It will eventually be the baby room :)
It's kinda a funny story.....when Joe and I first started looking for houses, we looked at A LOT!! We must have looked at at least 30 houses in the East Buntyn and High Point area. One day, I was driving around and saw one for sale that I thought was soooo cute! I asked our realtor if see could get us in to see it....low and behold, the moment we went it, I KNEW it was the house that we were supposed to have. It just felt right, like when you try on wedding dresses and you try on THE ONE...you just know! I pictured us living in the house, entertaining in the house, and I totally had a vision on me running down the L-O-N-G hallway to the babies room. So there, now you know the story of our house and how it came to be. So because of my vision, I know that the guest room will be a babies room someday. But, until then....I just HAD to do something. I have been following this wonderful blog :
http://www.theletteredcottage.net/
and I love the whole look of their house. It's just a young couple...the husband is a ROCKSTAR and very handy and the wife is cute and crafty...the similarities were erie...haha!!

I got several of these pictures off their blog and others I found randomly on the internet. I really like this look and best of all, it's something I can do for super CHEAP!! That is always a good thing. I have a lot of the stuff already, it's just a matter of moving some things around. Hopefully it will be done soon and I will post pictures of the end result. Enjoy!

Flashback Friday!

I look at this picture and I just have to smile. This was taken at my Godmother's house in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I am with some of my best friends from high school. We came down for a week after graduation and had a great time. We would drive over to Panama City every night and drive up and down the strip...haha!!

Halloween Horrors...

Here are some of my favorite scary (and not so scary) Halloween movies. How many of these have you seen? What are your favorite scary movies? If you haven't seen one of these, do yourself a favor and head to Blockbuster!

Saturday in the City!

Joe and I spent the afternoon going to a few antique stores. These are some of my favorites!
I plan on coming to this cute little stand to get me some pumpkins this weekend.

And what day in the city would be complete without Gus's chicken? Joe's brother, Bob, and his step dad, Gatis, were in town for the night all the way from Minneapolis! They had to deliver a car to east TN and drove all the way across the state for this chicken....and to see us (I think it was mainly the chicken). My dad came out to join the festivities....he NEVER turns down FRIED CHICKEN! It was a fun day :)
