5 On Friday

Yay! I am so excited to be linking up today. I missed the last few weeks...life got in the way...and we were at the beach ;)

{one}
I seriously have been playing Hocus Pocus over and over again. Joe is like, "Really?? Hocus Pocus again?!" What can I say? It puts me in the holiday spirit.

{two}
I am loving sweatshirts lately. The weather has finally cooled off enough to start wearing them. I got one at Banana Republic Outlet and just ordered this one from Old Navy. LOVE it!

{three}
Joe and I are addicted to American Horror Story right now. Its about Witches and really good!

{four}
This time last week we were at the beach. I'm pretty sure I am ready to move there. We had a fabulous time. Details coming soon!

{five}
I was busy crafting again this week and made Sally's teachers something off Pinterest. I used some old Starbucks glass bottles, removed the labels and spray painted the lids black. I filled the bottles with Hershey Kisses and a plastic spider, tied on a ribbon and used this free printable. Easy Peasy!

Thoughtful Thursday

My Running Playlist

Hey Y'all! I just want to pat myself on the back tonight. I have been kicking some butt at the gym. I have been going 2 times a day...both to classes (Dance Fusion, Zumba, Total Body Sculpt, Boot Camp) and also running on the treadmill. I know some people prefer to run outside and listen to nature and clear their head and blah, blah, blah. Me...I need booty music. It makes running fun and keeps my energy up. The only downfall? Sometimes I want to stop and booty pop in the middle of my workout.  Here is what is on my current running playlist. Disclaimer: There are a lot of bad words...what can you do? I run better with music you can twerk to.

Our Favorite Halloween Books

Remember how I told you we had a tub of Halloween books? I want to show you the books inside. They are all great for toddlers and Sally seems to really be enjoying them. They can all be purchased from Amazon. Click the picture of the book for the link.

Bathroom Renovation Progress

So my house is covered in a layer of dust and every time I walk barefoot I have little concrete particles on the bottom of my feet...eww!

We are re-doing our master bath...like really re-doing it. It is something we always wanted to do with this house but I didn't think we were doing it until we had saved up some money for the project. A while ago I noticed that the drain in the shower wasn't draining well. We had the plumbers come over and when they ran the snake down the drain, they hit mud....ugh...not good.  Now our house is on a concrete slab so they only way to get down and fix that drain would be to jack hammer the floor. And...if we have to go through all of that we figured why fix it back the way we don't like? So...that brings us to where we are today. You know the whole dust everywhere...yeah that!

Here is what we started with. This is the entrance off the hallway. So we want to close this wall up to make it a true master bedroom and not open to the hallway. Once the wall is closed up, this will be the shower.

This is our weird shower/tub. You have to walk down 2 steps to get in...strange....and very dangerous with a toddler. This area will have a built in cabinet and the toilet.

So last weekend we had to take everything out of the bathroom...who knew we had so many products :)

Then Joe took all the tiles off the shower and floor, all the trim down and pulled off all the walls. Currently we have a concrete floor and wooden beams.

So here are some inspiration pictures from Pinterest.

Make This: Strawberry, Avocado, Pecan Chicken Salad

 Dressing:
-2 tablespoons of white sugar
-2 tablespoons of olive oil
-4 teaspoons of honey
-1 tablespoon cider vinegar
-1 teaspoon lemon juice

(I mix it all up in a glass jar.)

Salad:
-2 cups lettuce
-1 avocado peeled and cubed
-10 strawberries, sliced
-1/2 cup chopped pecans

Put it all into a bowl and toss.

If you want to add the chicken, which I think makes it extra yummy, here is what you need to do. Marinate 4-6 boneless skinless chicken tenders in a mixture of milk and hot sauce...just enough to coat. Heat some vegetable oil on the stove. Mix up the breading. I like to use either flour or Bisquick and add in seasoned salt, lemon pepper, etc. Fry until done on both sides and cooked all the way through. Drain on paper towels and slice up. Put it on top of the salad and drizzle on the dressing. Toss and enjoy!
