House For Sale...

So one of our favorite things to do is house hunt. Although we do not currently have our house on the market, we would sell quick if we ever found "the perfect" house. This is the house that we looked at yesterday. It's on Peabody in Central Gardens. It's in our price range but needs a little updating. On to the pictures:

Here is the front of the house
Front porch and door
This is the fireplace in the master bedroom
Bedroom #2 (there are 4 altogether)
Master Bathroom.....needs some updating, but I love the sink and tub
Living Room....love those French doors!!
Dining Room....look at that ceiling!
Stairs in the entry hall....very grand!
View from the front door
What do you think?? The kitchen needs to be gutted....but at least I could finally get it exactly like I want.

Minnesota Trip!

Joe and I took a long weekend trip to Minnesota for a wedding and to visit family :)
We came up on a Thursday and it was RAINING!! Joe's mom and I made chili and apple crisp and the family came over for dinner.

Joe and his stepdad, Gatis
On Friday morning, Joe's mom, Peggy, and I went shopping...
I am So sad that we do not have this store in Memphis...so it is a must on Minnesota trips. I love the wall of containers!!
Glass Jars= LOVE
Cute Tupperware...
Glass Bottles
We also hit up a Pottery Barn. I got a table runner, fall leaf decoration, and galvanized place cards for a total of $11...thanks to reward certificates :)

I loved this little cubby box thing.
Some fall decorating inspiration

On Friday night we headed to Matt and Sarah's wedding. It was in an old mansion in downtown Minneapolis.
We happened to walk up while they were doing a family group shot....yes they saw each other before the ceremony.
We snuck up to the reception room before everyone else came upstairs. Beautiful!!
Joe and his friend Luke...they have known each other since middle school!
Me and Kelly (Luke's wife)

Me and Joe :)
Dance PARTY!!
Joe and his buddies!
We had a room downtown so that we wouldn't have to drive home afterwards. We ordered room service in the morning....cause that's wow we roll :)
On Saturday morning, we all went on a Gangster Tour in downtown St. Paul.
Peggy and Gatis (doesn't he look thrilled?)
Me (Gatis) and Joe
The Gangster Tour was really neat and took us all over St. Paul

We stopped for lunch here:
and I carved our initials in the table.
We went to some Open Houses....just for fun and on the way home we saw so many hot air balloons....so neat! One day, I want to go in one!
This is Joe's parents business....they own a hanger at an airport.
Airplanes!!

Show us your life-Living Rooms

Welcome to my living room!!
When you first come in the front door, we have a little nook with a "hobbit window", a coat stand from Pottery Barn, and an iron scroll from a house salvage store downtown.
Here is our couch....lime green of course....Martha Stewart brand from Samuel's Furniture. The window behind the couch is from an old house. The iron scroll above the door is from Hobby Lobby. The coffee table was a "pre-Sarah" purchase.
We found this bookshelf at an estate sale here in Memphis. We have managed to fill it with all sorts of books and trinkets. I got Joe that airplane propeller when he upgraded to Captain of the airplane....yay for Captain Pookie!! Joe bought the green floor lamp in an antique store
"pre-Sarah".
We bought the two yellow Pottery Barn chairs last year at the outlet. We saw them and knew they belonged to us! The rug is also from Pottery Barn....can you tell we LOVE that place? It also doesn't help that we lives about 5 minutes away from the outlet!
We actually found this peice on the curb in our neighborhood. It used to be a filing system at a military base. Joe refinished it, added legs and new hardware and made a top for it. I love it and best of all...it was free!!
Here is our H-U-G-E entertainment center from...where else?? Pottery Barn! After we bought it, we couldn't get it in the door....too heavy! Luckily, my mom called two guys off the street to help carry it in.
This end table came from Pottery Barn. It's actually called a telephone table.

Show Us Your Life-Master Bedrooms

When Joe and I were looking for a house, I was so excited to find one with such a huge bedroom. It's pretty much unheard of for these smaller mid-town homes to have large master bedrooms. Ours was obviously an addition, but they did such a good job, we cannot tell where the old house stopped and where the addition started. When you open the door to our bedroom, you go down a long hallway....our "Master Suite" if you will :) This is a picture of the hall. To the left is our renovated Master Bathroom. Our house has all hardwoods too...love that! The door on the right leads to the back patio.
When you reach the end of the hall, this is what you see. Joe bought the bedroom suite when he was a bachelor....lucky for me, he has excellent taste!! The old stained glass window came from a very old house in Minnesota. Joe's stepdad gave it to us. We bought the ceiling fan at wither Lowe's or Home Depot. I like the stained glass on it...very craftsman style. Gosh...why does Hank think he needs to be in EVERY picture?! I made the curtains out of Burlap with the help of Sister Kristy. The rug is from Pottery Barn outlet.
Here is our bed....we call it "the nest" or sometimes "the cloud". It is SUPER comfy, but one day I would like to have a four poster bed. The bedding is a mix of Restoration Hardware and Bed Bath and Beyond. The art on the wall was made by me using frames for the $1 Tree and scrapbook paper. I am still not sure how I feel about it, but it was a cheap project, so if we decide to do something else....no big deal. The pillow on the bed is made of a burlap/linen type material and is from Pottery Barn. I HAD to have it since it says "Nest".
Although I HATE having a couch in the bedroom, Hank sleeps here at night. It is the love seat to our old couch that Joe had before we got married. The end tables belonged to my parents when they first got married. The map behind the couch is from Pottery Barn.

What does YOUR Master bedroom look like?
