I have always been a fan of Halloween and all things spooky. I am so happy that Sally seems to agree. She loves spiders, bats, ghosts, etc. She was so excited to decorate her room this year.
I was in Hobby Lobby and saw that they had "Halloween Trees"...that's a crazy concept I thought....until I realized that we had Sally's white Christmas tree. Then I thought it was a brilliant idea. I picked up a few things at HobLob on sale. I also got some stuff from $1 spot at target and the Dollar Tree. I am in love with the way it turned out. It is super cute and I am so happy to have a reason to use the tree more than once a year...next up...Valentine's Day and Easter trees!!
Here is the view of Sally's tree. I got a cute little sign from Target $1 Spot and added a real mini pumpkin. I also used a glitter pumpkin banner that I made last year. Her room is so fun when we turn off the lights (except for the tree lights) and listen to Wee Sing Halloween CD. :)
Since I taught Kindergarten for nine years, I have quite the collection of books. I pulled out the most appropriate Halloween ones and put them in a big black bin. I added "BOO!" in white vinyl. We have so much fun each night picking out "spooky" books to read.
I picked up this cute plate in the $1 Spot at Target. It had been so much fun making spooky meals on it.
Here is a pancake ghost I made :)
Of course I broke out the Halloween bucket at the beginning of the month and filled it with goodies. I got the bucket a few years ago from Etsy.
All filled and ready to BOO!
Here is what I put in it:
Disney Princess Stickers ($1 Tree)
Disney Princess Flashlight ($1 Tree)
It's Pumpkin Day Mouse book
Halloween Plate (Target)
Kitty Cup (Target)
Disney Villian Jelly Beans (Target)
Bat finger puppet
Ghost Peeps (Target)
I have also been having fun making "spooky" lunches for Sally to take to school. Here are the ones from this week.
I also made her a Halloween breakfast this morning.
She loved it!
My girl all ready for school ;)
We also did a Halloween craft this week. Mason Jar pumpkins are so easy and your toddler will love them.
Here is how you make them. Just get a clear mason jar (or any other clear jar with the label removed). Paint with orange acrylic paint and let dry.
Get some black felt with "sticky" on the back and cut out a pumpkin face. Add to the jar and you are done. These are cute with a fake candle inside, to hold festive straws, etc. Do not get them wet on the outside.
