Five on Friday

Today I am once again linking up for 5 on Friday.

{one}
I am so excited that one of my favorite shows is back on...but its the last season....so this makes it bittersweet. Its a Sunday night tradition for Joe and I to watch it together.

I made us some chocolate fondue to ring in the first episode of the last season. It was so yummy!

Joe and I had a mini getaway last Friday night. We went to see Counting Crows and Toad the Wet Sprocket (two of my favorite bands growing up). The concert was great and it was nice to spend the night in a hotel. Sally stayed with a sweet family friend.

Mini getaways are good for the soul..so are delicious BLT's from Memphis BBQ Company!

Joe had an overnight trip to Portland last week and asked me if he wanted a doughnut from the famous VooDoo Doughnuts. Um...yes! I have seen this place on Travel Channel and knew I had to experience it. I had him get me the VooDoo one...they also offer lots of other crazy varieties. It was so delicious.

I guess its just a "toddler" thing but sometimes Sally is a great eater and other times...not so much! I love this idea of getting a variety of foods in her. This was her lunch one day last week. Its super easy...all you need is a ice cube tray. Here is what was in hers: sesame sticks, pears, blueberries, pretzels, cashews, avocado, strawberries, fruit loops, craisins, pecans, yogurt, carrots, chicken, banana chips, ham and pineapple.

I got crafty this week and made a burlap star for the front door. I used red/white striped and blue/white polka dot material and glued it on top of a burlap star. It was easy and I think it turned out cute.

That's all...we have a weekend filled with birthday parties, outdoor concerts and yummy treats. I love weekends like this :)

Summer Adventures: Week 4

Here is a wrap up of last weeks activities:

We went to the pool two times

We went to two different story times

We played dress up

We went out for ice cream

We made ribbon wands
These are really easy to make.

You need ribbon, paint, wooden dowels, paint brush, thumb tacks.

Basically you just paint the wooden dowel and then take the ribbons and put them on  thumb tack. Then when you are done, stick the tack in the end of the wooden dowel. Easy Peasy. I made some for 4th of July.

Sally loved them so much that I decided to make a Disney and Princess one.

Here is what is on the agenda this week:

Monday
Walk to feed the horses

Tuesday
Working on big girl room

Wednesday
Story Time

Thursday
Mall Day!

Friday
Park

Special Summer Craft
Finger Painting

Special Summer Activity
Sorting Fruit Loops

Special Summer Snack
PB&J on a Stick

5 on Friday

{one}
I wanted to share this cute Pinterest inspired craft. I took an old Altoids tin and modge podged some scrapbook paper on it. It holds crayons perfectly and is so easy to toss in Sally's bag :)

{two}
Joe and I celebrated our 8th anniversary last week. Since we recently got new phones and cases we decided to just make each other cards. We both got pretty crafty.

Joe made me this sign out of reclaimed wood with our anniversary date on it.

I made vintage library card stamped with our important dates.

We spent the morning taking Sally out for doughnuts and then to the Children's Museum.

We managed to NOT get a picture together, but I took this selfie before we left. I realized that my teeth look really white and I hope they look that good in real life :)

We had the yummiest dinner at Bhan Thai and then drove around our favorite midtown neighborhoods. It was so nice and low key...perfect just spending time together.

I made the cutest outfit for Sally this week. I bought a cheap tank at wal-mart and a too small dress at Goodwill (size 12 months).

I basically cut off the skirt of the dress, put in some elastic and it was a shirt. I cut a "bib" out of the top of the dress and sewed it onto the tank. I added a few buttons for cuteness. I was impressed with myself.

It's certainly no where near perfect but she looked really cute in it.

{four}
I am so excited to be the Craft Chair for MOPS next year. We had leadership training a few weeks ago and I made a little set up for desserts. The theme next year is "Be You Bravely". I made feather toppers for the cupcakes. They were a big hit!

I know monthly subscription boxes are all the rage right now. I was sent the Love with Food box to try and loved it. Everything was healthy and yummy!! If you are interested in ordering, you can get your first box for free (just pay $2 shipping). Since its a monthly thing, you will have to put in your credit card, but if you cancel after the first month, you will not be charged anymore. Head over here to see all the details.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We have some fun things planned including a concert by 2 of our favorite 90's bands.

Summer Adventures: Week 3

Here is a wrap up of pictures from last week:

We had such a fun family day....a doughnut breakfast at our favorite place

and a trip to the Children's Museum.

Sally had so much fun!!

Her favorite thing was playing dress up and seeing herself on the tv. She was obsessed with this mermaid costume so I came home and ordered it from Amazon. :)

We had fun making Joe's Father's day gift. I stamped Sally's handprint on the back. He loved it!!

We also had a blast at story time!

Here are the plans for this week

Monday:
Library and Pool

Tuesday:
Pool Day!

Wednesday:
Story Time at the Library

Thursday:
Story Time at the Library

Friday:
Pink Palace

Summer Craft:

Summer Snack:
Frozen Yogurt Bites
I literally took a thing of yogurt and some fresh blueberries and put it in a heart shaped mold (from Ikea) and froze it. Make sure you don't overfill and tap it on the counter a little bit so help it fill in all the space.
