June Citrus Lane Box

We got our June Citrus Lane box, entitled "Little Artists", in the mail today. Yup, I bit the bullet and started a subscription to Citrus Lane. What can I say, I had "box envy" when I saw everyone else getting their fabulous boxes. I couldn't hold back any longer.

The great thing about Citrus Lane is that you get…

- 4 to 5 "best of" products

- Based on the child's age (newborn to 3 years)

- $25 per month with free shipping

- 3, 6 and 12 month gift packages are available

So, I type in Sally's age and that she's a girl and we get a customized box.

Let's see what goodies we got in our  box, shall we?

The items this month include:
1. Wee Can Too Veggie Art Kit. This ‘veggie baby art kit’ is edible finger paint and crayons. I love this concept, since babies have a tendency to put finger paint right into their mouth. The kit is made of organic ingredients and real fruits and vegetables! There are also crayons. I will be very interested to see what Sally thinks of this kit. www.weecantooart.com
2. Sampler CD. I will add this CD to my car collection. Putumayo 2012 Playground Sampler includes 6 songs from around the world. www.putumayo.com
3. Pop & Lolli Decal. This little owl is super cute! www.popandlolli.com

4. Hohner Kids Musical Instruments. Sally got a little rattle shaker thing with a bell in the middle. She seems to like it so far. www.hohnerkids.com
5. BabyGanics Toy & Table Cleaner. I’ve wanted this product, so I’m glad it was included! www.babyganics.com
6. Minted Offer. Lastly, the box included a $35 credit towards items at Minted.com. This website features absolutely adorable birth announcements, party invitations, and stationary. I love Minted and have used it in the past! www.minted.com

What a difference a year makes!

One year ago today I woke up with a feeling.
I went to visit my friend, Adrienne, and the feeling wouldn't go away.
I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a test.
I took it nervously in the bathroom.
I caught a glimpse of the line and the biggest smile came across my face.
I stared. I smiled. I giggled.
I knew right then and there that my baby girl was inside me....Sally.
I kept the secret from Joe for a week until he got home from a flying trip.
But not Kristy. I had to tell someone.
One year ago I fell in love with my little girl that I didn't even know.
She was definitely worth all the excitement!

*I got this idea from my friend, Leslie.

Casa del Moske: The Living Room

Here is our living room. It is full of things we have collected and picked up over the years.

Here is the view from the dining room. Our entertainment center came from Pottery Barn Outlet and the factory cart coffee table came from a local guy in middle Tennessee that I found off Craigslist. The little box next to the entertainment center with the rooster in it is a "side of the road" find. It is some kind of crate that used to hold something.

Here is the view from the front door. The side table with the lamp on it is also from Pottery Barn Outlet. The card catalog side table is actually something we FOUND on the side of the road. It was an old card catalog from the army. It had no legs, no top and was missing a drawer. Joe fixed it all up and added the pulls....good as new! The vintage Coca-Cola crate came from the Nashville flea market.

Here is a close up of the table.

The yellow and white patterned chairs are from Pottery Barn Outlet...see a trend here? The middle table is from Hobby Lobby. There is another crate under the table from the side of the road. On the walls, we have

Here is what is on the table.
Here is a close up of the art on the wall. This is one I made with vintage board game pieces. We LOVE the Beatles, so this quote is perfect.

This frame is from Pier One and I clipped pictures of Joe and I from our travels.

Our other side of the room has a baby swing...yup...it cannot be avoided. We also have a bookcase that we bought at an Estate sSale when we first got married.

On the top of the bookshelf:
a vintage stained glass window, a vintage seltzer bottle (Nashville Flea Market), a flying pig, some pictures, and a sign that says, "You are the icing on my cupcake, the laces in my shoe, etc."

Inside the bookcase:
lots of books, sand in IKEA spice jars from our travels, little antiques, etc.

On the wall we have this art that I made. I ordered the vintage flashcards off Etsy and framed them on some burlap.

This is the other corner. Yet another side of the road box that was found, a plant, a vintage lamp, and a wooden airplane propeller.

Hope you have enjoyed my little house tour.

Casa del Moske: The Kitchen

Welcome to my house, today I am showing you my kitchen. I missed the Kelly's Korner link up, but I still wanted to share since it was clean and the maid just came. Yes, we have a cleaning lady, don't judge! She is worth every penny!!

Our kitchen still has the original 1940's cabinets and tile countertops. We freshened the cabinets up with new knobs and pulls from Home Depot. We put down the tile floor about 5 years ago and we are about to rip it up and lay down hardwood.

Here is the view from the doorway to the dining room.

Here is the view from the other door in the hallway. See Sally in her bouncer seat?
The green and white striped rug is from Dash & Albert. The shelf has cookbooks and recipe binders on it.

We will be traveling to IKEA later this summer to pick up a new sink. After a white subway tile backsplash and new countertops, I think it will look great!

Movies Lately

Here are some of the Redbox movies that I have gotten lately.

This was a chick-flick that I watched one day while Joe was at work. I liked it...but I wasn't expecting much. I think Channing Tatum is pretty HOT and I love anything with Rachel McAdams.

Joe and I watched this in bed one night. SUPER SPOOKY! I'm pretty sure I made him go to the bathroom with me afterwards. It was scary!!

This movie was just OK...in my opinion. I did enjoy looking at Ryan Gosling for over an hour though. I just though the plot was slow.

I enjoyed this movie a lot...so did Joe. It's one of those movies that boys and girls will like :)

Speaking of Redbox....I got all of these for free. How you ask? With free codes. Here are some that have worked for me. I just write them all down on a piece of paper in my wallet and cross them out as I use them Enjoy!

Summer Reading

Here is my summer reading list.

I have heard good things about this one:

I read the first book in like a day....its a fast, easy read....perfect for the beach! Let's hope this next book in the series is just as good.

Yes, I am going to bite the bullet and read this to find out what all the fuss is about.

This is what I am reading right now. It's a fast read, but Kendra is not the best writer.

I have heard this is hilarious!
