Here are some ways you can help with the sale and benefit from early shopping. 

You do not have to be a Consignor to be a Volunteer Worker at theevents. You just have to be dependable, trustworthy and have a smiling face! If you work one 3 hour shift you will earn a Worker's Pass, for working two 3 hour shifts you will earn an Early Worker's Pass! Working 3 shifts, 1 being during sort, you will be a Super Mom. Super Moms shop 1st with 2 hours in the store just with other Super Moms!

Referring Four Consignors

When you refer FOUR new consignors to Rhea Lana's, and they bring at least 15 items, you will receive 75% of your sales!! Be sure to tell your referral consignors to give us your name (by email) when they register to consign.

Referring Five Consignors

When you refer FIVE new consignors (and they bring 15 items) you'll get 80% of your sales!!

Media Coverage

If you can help us with Radio, Television or Newspaper Coverage you will receive an Early Worker Pass.

Sound System

If you can provide us with a quality Sound System, you will receive an Early Worker Pass.

Shopping Bags

If you can supply us with several hundred large shopping bags (they can even have your business logo on them!), you will receive an early shopping pass.

Racks/Tables

If you have five clothing racks and/or tables (6-8 feet) you will receive one pre-sale Worker's Pass.

Meals for Workers

Our great volunteer workers get tired and hungry! When you bring a meal, snacks or drinks, you will receive a Worker Pass or Early Worker Pass, depending on the amount of food that you bring. Contact Lindsey at Lindsey@rhealana.com.

Dads

We need dads who will help with the set-up and the breakdown. When dads work, the wives love it because they get to shop early! You will receive one pre-sale Worker's Pass. We also need help with moving large items and security.

Brochure and Poster Distribution

We are looking for gals who will help spread the word about Rhea Lana's in their community by distributing brochures to our target market- families with children. Possible places for brochure and poster distribution include preschools, daycares, dance studios, doctors offices and more.

Copycat Firebirds BLT Salad

For my birthday we went to Firebirds. It's one of my favorite restaurants because they have my favorite salad....the BLT Salad. Its exactly what it sounds like...a taste explosion in your mouth. The concept is pretty simple...lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon with yummy ranch dressing. Sounds simple right? The secret is the ranch dressing. I consider myself a ranch dressing snob. My favorites: J Alexanders, O Charleys, Side Porch Steak House (local) and Firebirds. I also hate mayo and I know most people make ranch dressing with mayo. That's all fine and dandy as long as I cant tell.  When it comes to me making my own, I have to get creative.

Here is what you need to make it:

sour cream

ranch packet

water

green onions

garlic

garlic salt

pepper

parsley

Make the ranch dip by combing the tub of sour cream and ranch packet until mixed well. 

Take out a little and put into a different bowl. Thin just a bit with a few tablespoons of water. Stir to combine. Mince garlic and 1/2 green onion. Add pepper, garlic salt and parsley to taste. Set aside.

Fry a few pieces of bacon. Chop into small pieces.

Chop lettuce into small pieces. Add chopped tomatoes and bacon. 

Pour in dressing....only enough to cost each piece. You don not want this salad to be swimming in dressing! Sit back and enjoy!! Yum!!

Follow These Directions:

1. GET PRICE TAGS

2. GATHER AND ORGANIZE the items you are selling

The more organized you are, the quicker Drop Off will be! Best you can, organize your items by GENDER and SIZE before you start. Review the sidebar to see what is and is not acceptable.

3. PREPARE your items
Wash, iron, repair buttons, gather loose pieces of toys and do whatever is necessary to ensure that your items are in excellent condition. Items will be returned that do not meet our guidelines.

Hanger should look like a question mark when you are looking at the front of the garment.

4. COMPUTER ENTRY (It's easy & quick & fun!)

• Gather your clothing in a neat pile beside you at the computer.
• Register and Train - Clicking "Register" below will allow you to signup as a consignor. You will be asked for your name, address, email and you will choose a password (Write this down.)
You will then be asked to complete some "training" screens to assure that we are on the same wavelength regarding quality, pricing and organization. Once you finish, you will be given a Consignor ID and a Batch number (write these down!!)
• Enter your descriptions and prices on the Web. Enter a description and price for each of your items. Do this carefully and accurately. You will be able to save your work and come back to it later if you'd like.
• Choose if you would like to DONATE items that do not sell. You will be able to choose NONE, ALL or select certain items to donate after the sale if they do not sell.
• PRINT your inventory sheet. You can print it after you finish the Donate Screen, or go back to the Check Sales button and pull up your batch. You must bring your printed inventory sheet with you to check in.
• TAG AND NUMBER your Garment

Once you have priced your garments and have a listing on the website, safety pin a string tag to each garment. To help you keep you items in order, you may write the assigned number onto each corresponding tag.

5. DROP OFF
When you come to the store with your items, we will have your price labels printed out and you can attach them to your tags quickly and accurately before you leave. Make sure and bring them in numerical order. Please allow 30 minutes to an hour for Drop Off. The earlier in the week you come, the quicker it will be!!

6. PICK UP DAY
Pick Up Day is Sunday, September 29th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This is very important since we can't store your items. You will receive a detailed inventory sheet, your unsold items and a check for items sold. A participation fee of $9.00 will automatically be deducted from your account. ALL ITEMS LEFT AFTER PICK UP WILL BE DONATED TO CHARITY, SINCE WE HAVE TO BE OUT OF THE FACILITY.

The process is simple once you become familiar with it!

Also remember, consignors may shop early. The Consignor's Pre-sale is Saturday, September 21st from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The Consignor's HALF PRICE sale will be Tuesday, September 24th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM .

*** One of the reasons our sale has become such a success is you - our consignors and our workers. If you are interested in working one or more shifts during the sale, you will be invited to our Worker's Pre-Sale Event on Saturday, September 21st from 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Birthday Weekend

I turned 32 this past weekend. It was pretty low key....exactly what I was feeling like. Sally had a case of hand, foot, mouth disease and Joe and I had horrible colds. Luckily I had started to be able to taste again.  Joe let me sleep in and then took Sally to pick out some Gibson's doughnuts. They brought them back to me and we ate them in bed. Perfect start to the day. This was Sally's first time to taste a doughnut...I think she loves them!!

We had a lazy morning and I got a 2 hour massage in the afternoon. It was fabulous!!! After I came home and got ready we went out to dinner at Firebirds (one of my favorites!!).  

On Saturday we woke up and went to the Germantown Festival. It was sooo hot!! Sally had two balloons tied to her stroller and was having a great time! Later in the afternoon, Joe went to the University of Memphis game and I took a nap. We met up with some friends for dinner at Side Porch Steak House...so yummy!

I got several nice things for my birthday but only have a picture of one. My dad found this awesome antique milk bottle holder for me. I LOVE it!! 

Overall it was a wonderful weekend spent with family and friends!! I still plan to go out to dinner with my dad to celebrate too :)

I am so excited to be a blogger for Rhea Lana's this year. As a new mama, I am learning how the consingment sale world works. I cant wait to share everything I learn with you!  I will be blogging about the consignment process, sale dates/times, sharing pictures before the sale starts and also showing you all the great deals that I found! 

First of all, I want to share some frequently asked questions. 

What is This All About?

Rhea Lana's, Inc. is an upscale children's consignment event business. We are proud to serve our state of Arkansas and beyond! Shoppers come from all over Arkansas and surrounding states to purchase excellent quality children's merchandise at affordable prices.

We now have hundreds of consignors and thousands of shoppers. Our most popular brands are Gymboree, Gap, Baby Lulu, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Cottontail Originals, Pepper Toes, Anavini, Lucky Jeans, Amanda Remembered and Cach Cach. Our most popular toys are Little Tikes outdoor playgrounds, Racing Car beds, Kitchens, Doll Houses, Tool Benches, Barbie Jeeps, Brio wooden train sets, and American Girl Dolls and accessories. We also carry beautiful nursery furniture and bedding, cradles, carseats, strollers, high chairs, exer-saucers and walkers.

Thanks to our Consignors who generously donate their unsold items after each sale. We make contributions to several wonderful organizations that reach out to those in need in our community, including local elementary schools, overseas medical missions and orphanages, Life Choices - a crisis pregnancy center in Conway and LTC (Love, Truth, Care), a ministry in Little Rock and Honduras.

Tell me again, how does this work?

We receive HIGH QUALITY children's clothing on consignment and sell at our event. We give consignors a generous 70% of the sale price (which they select). We GUARANTEE no lost items. Consignor's checks and reports are available on Pick up Day after the sale. You don't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail!

Do you carry only children's clothing?

No. At our events we carry children's furniture, nursery bedding, maternity clothing, juniors clothing, nursing accessories and infant equipment (such as strollers, high chairs, car seats and portable cribs.) We also carry high quality toys, children's books, video games and sports accessories.

Most consignment stores give 40-50%. Why do you give 50-70%?

Our consignors are very special to us! We believe our consignors deserve a fair price for their items and we want each consignor to make the most money possible to benefit their family.

Why do you guarantee each item?

We value our consignors so we track each item with our unique computerized barcoding system and database. We seek to treat our customers and consignors as we would want to be treated. Again, we think more items will be available to moms on a budget if we are careful with the items. Plus, some ladies are not willing to risk losing some items. This way they know they will not suffer a loss. Consignors know that they can TRUST us with their high quality items!

Why is your event better than having my own garage sale?

We do most of the work for you! You just prepare your items and bring them to the store. We do all of the advertising and staff the event. You just pick up your check, detailed inventory report and neatly-sorted items. We'll even have friendly workers there to help you and answer your questions! Plus, you will make lots more money than you would at a garage sale or consignment store.

Why do you emphasize EXCELLENT QUALITY so much?

No one wants to sort through, much less BUY, low quality items for their children. It is a time waster for everyone to put worn, stained, out-of-date items on a rack. That's why we insist on accepting only high quality items.

Why did you put together a web site?

Because everybody else is doing it (kidding). Actually, we have had our website online for approximately 8 years. When we developed our unique barcoding system and online data entry system, many moms did not yet have computers in their home. If they did, they were just beginning to learn to email and use the internet! But moms have learned to love entering their items online and tracking their sales throughout our events! Rhea Lana's gives them control in pricing their items and makes it very easy to make a great profit.

What kind of control does a consignor have over her items?

Several things:
1. She can select the price of each item.
2. She can choose whether she wants to sell some items for half price on the final sale days.
3. She can track the sale of each item on this website.
4. She knows she is guaranteed the item won't be lost. She will receive payment for it, or she may choose to donate it or retrieve it.

As you can see consignors can be very involved if they wish.
