Books I Have Liked

I have always enjoyed reading and now I have a purpose....to find out everything I can about the baby growing in my belly. This was a book that was given to me at my OBGYN. It's sort of a "What to Expect" type book. I like this one better though. It has good pictures and is easy to read.
I LOVE this Jenny McCarthy book. She makes me laugh and puts everything out there :)

Someone gave me this book and I like this one too.
Joe said he wanted a book to read so that he would understand what was going on with me and my ever changing body. After a little bit of research, I decided on this one and ordered it from Barnes and Noble. Joe loves it. I read a few of the pages one night in the bath and it is great for daddies to be. It is written by a guy and is pretty humorous. I can already tell that Joe is learning things from the book...he has been extra helpful and nice lately....as to not upset the pregnant lady :)

How I Found Out

On our way back from Mexico (where I consumed one too many fruity drinks mind you) I looked at my little "period card"....you know the one the Dr. gives you to keep track of everything? I noticed that by this time last month I had already started my period (and I have always been pretty regular). It was actually a few days late....weird...I couldn't be pregnant. We hadn't really even tried yet. I figured maybe I would start in a few days....fast forward to Father's Day and I STILL hadn't started. I wanted to take a test....how cool would it be to find out I was pregnant on Father's Day and be able to tell Joe?! But I told myself that I would probably start my period the next day. I kept having that weird feeling in my stomach....you know the one you have right before you start your period? Yeah.... that one...which made me think that I wasn't pregnant. So on Monday I went to visit my sweet friend, Adrienne, and her two boys and I just woke up having this feeling that I was pregnant. By now I was over a week late. On the way home I stopped at the $1 Tree and bought 2 pregnancy tests, got home and took them.......they said I was pregnant. I stared at myself in the mirror....me....pregnant.....what?! I was giddy...but still couldn't believe it. MUST GET MORE TESTS!!! I headed to Target and bough the kind that actually says "PREGNANT". I came home and took the test....this is what I saw:

This was for real. I was pregnant. I called the Dr. and made an appt. Now I had to find a creative way to tell Joe. He had left this morning to go on a trip to Texas and would not be back until Thursday. MUST TELL SOMEONE!!! I called Kristy and she did not answer. I knew she was in an in-service...but this was important. She texted me and told me to text her back. I told her I couldn't text her...she needed to go to the bathroom and call me. So a few minuted later I get a phone call. She thought something was horribly wrong. When I told her she cried happy tears and started helping me think of ways to tell Joe.....I love her!

I've been keeping a secret....

Yup...that's right...we are pregnant!!!

Details to come soon including how I found out, how I told Joe, how we told the parents, morning sickness, etc.

We feel so blessed and are trying to enjoy this exciting time!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

{one}
I love the Memphis shout out JT gave the other day.....he loves his Memphis Tigers as much as I do.

{two}
I watched "Meet Me In St. Louis" today while laying on the couch....pure bliss. This has been one of my favorites since I was 2 years old.

{three}
I love the South.....I do not love the hot, humid summers though!

{four}
I can finally say that I love my freckles. They make me who I am :)

{five}
I love my new planner from Target. It's made from recycled paper and is super cute. Mine is the 3rd one....pink and green no less :)

{six}
I have been loving rainbow sherbert on these hot summer nights. It reminds me of being a kid.

{seven}
This stuff is the BEST!! Just a dab and all your worries go away. It helps with headaches too!

{eight}
I am so excited to go see the new Harry Potter movie this weekend....and in 3D? Yes please!

Speaking of Harry Potter....look at Platform 9 3/4 at the train station in England.
How cool! I want to go there.
