Happy Birthday Baby Linz!!

For Lindsey's birthday we went with a group to The Melting Pot. It was delicious and really fun! Look at all of the steam coming up from the fondue!! Happy Birthday Lindsey!!

A Taste of the Islands...

I went to a "Girls Night Out" Viking cooking class in March. The theme was "Islands". I love the restaurant "Bahama Breeze", so I couldn't wait to make some "island" food of my own. It was soooo yummy!! We made :
  • Jamaican Jerk Chicken Skewers
  • Tamarind-Glazed Grilled Shrimp
  • Crisp Salad Greens with Macadamia Nuts and Mango-Mint Vinaigrette
  • White Chocolate Banana Cream Tart with Caramel Sauce
  • Plantain Chips with Black Bean Hummus
  • Mango Margaritas

    Girls Weekend....Martin Style!

I spent last weekend revisiting the place where I made so many great memories.....UT-Martin. I hadn't been back since I graduated in 2003 so I was excited to see what had changed and what was the same. My best girls from college and I drove up to Martin on Saturday. We ate at LaCabana and came out just as stinky as ever, drove around and looked at the town, frat houses, etc., went into the ZTA lodge, and got caught in a snow storm!
Abigail and I had fun posing in the lodge with props!
Kristy and Abigail drooling over the dreamy UTM football players....haha!
Having lunch at La Cabana with my girls!

    Ecelctic Eye Private Party

I had the honor of being asked to do a cupcake tower for the best eye wear shop in Memphis, Eclectic Eye. They were having a Mardi Gras themed party that was invite only for their very special customers. So fun!

    Valentine's Day

Joe and I spent Valentine's day doing the thing that we love to do best...hang out together! After a yummy lunch at Holiday Ham, we headed to the zoo. We are members and love to go watch the monkeys and polar bears. We made friends with a very nice cockatoo who came down off her branch specifically to speak with us. After that we drove through Central Gardens admiring all of the beautiful houses. We picked up Chinese food and came home to eat and watch our favorite show, "Supernatural". It was a very perfect, low key day...exactly what we needed.

    Beef and Beatles!

For Joe's 30th birthday, we went to Texas de Brazil and to see Rain! (Beatles tribute band) at The Orpheum. This was our first time to eat at Texas de Brazil and it was so yummy! The salad bar was awesome...we cannot wait to try out the Sunday brunch. Rain! was SO GOOD! What a neat experience. Joe and I sang along to every song. It was the next best thing to being with the actual Beatles. We ran into Uncle Billy and Aunt Anne and Lisa and Craig. I felt like my mom was there dancing along with us!!

Metal Museum with Drew and Michelle

Joe and I went with Drew and Michelle to the Memphis Ornamental Metal Museum last Saturday for Joe's birthday. There is a really neat old hospital there that we know is haunted. Joe went and asked if we could go in. They said we could not go in, but we could walk around the buildings....spooky!!
