Henry's Wild Rumpus

I had a lot of ideas in my head for Henry's first birthday party. Now I know he wouldn't know what we did but I love any excuse for planning parties. One of my ideas was Where the Wild Things Are and when a local mama was selling several things from her party I took it as a sign.

I started off by ordering invites from this Etsy shop.

I dont have too many project pictures but I did cover some paper mache letters from Hobby Lobby with moss that comes in sheets.

I also got a piece of wood and painted this sign for the front door.

As guests walked in the door I had the guest book on the entry hall table. I just had a hard back copy of the book and asked everyone to sign a message for Henry.

Here is a close up of the sign I painted for the table.

Next to the table I had paper crowns for anyone who wanted one.

Here is a picture of the mantle. I added the Henry letters in front of the window but somehow managed to not take a picture.

A sweet friend let me borrow this vintage high chair and I added on a banner and Henry's birthday crown.

In the kitchen, I had bubbles on the table. I printed off labels that said, "A trick to tame the wild things".

I hung a banner on the butlers pantry.

Gold mylar balloons in the window

I set up the drink area in the dining room.

Of course we had to have Henry's Hard Soda!!

Here is the food and cake table.

On our vintage greenhouse window I put up pictures of Henry from each month.

On the dining room table, I put succulents in my reclaimed wood box.

In the backyard we set up Henry's birthday present, a teepee and also some wood displays that a friend let me borrow. They were the kind you put your face in for pictures.

I ordered this shirt for Henry off Etsy and it was perfect!

Of course I hardly took any pictures during the party....

As people left, I had cookies packaged up for favors. I made it really easy and just bought them from Costco.

Happy Birthday Henry!!!

Five on Friday!!

Hey everyone!!! So its Saturday but in my defense....I started this on Friday!! Let's get right to it....5 Things that I want to share with you!

{one}
These earrings from Bauble Bar!! I mean, could they get ANY cuter?!

Go shop through this link and start earning points!!

Have you jumped on the Lipsense wagon yet? I have several friends who are selling it and I haven been hesitant to try it. My friend, Nikki, offered to send me a color of my choosing to try out. I was so excited because I love to chance to sample new products.

It was really easy to use and I can see why it has such a cult following. There are a million youtube videos about it. Basically you make sure your lips are clean and then you apply the color three times (letting each coat dry between layers) and then you add the gloss on top. My color was really natural looking and it stayed put for hours!!

I hate (like seriously hate!) posting pictures of myself but here you go. If you want to try out some Lipsense for yourself check out www.musthavemakeup.com and tell Nikki I sent you!!

{three}
I saw this pom pom straw clutch on a friends Instagram and I knew I needed to order one. Its from T&J designs and you can find it here.

{four}
Last weekend we traveled to Bossier City, LA to see someone who has been on my bucket list for years...Paul McCartney!! We are HUGE Beatles fans so to be in the same building with him....I have no words! He is showing his age but he put on an amazing show!! There were 24 Beatles songs that he did and he threw in some of his own stuff too. It was a once in a lifetime experience and Im so glad that we did it. We also left the kids with an overnight babysitter for the first time and they did great but I was a nervous wreck and dang it was expensive!!

{five}

We celebrated 4th of July. I displayed my sign that we made last year.

I also purchased a pallet flag made by one of my clients sons.

Love these sweet kiddos!!
