Mr. and Mrs.

My brother and his lovely wife, Michelle, got married on Dec. 19 in Atlanta, GA. We had a very busy and for me, an emotionally draining weekend. The bridesmaids tea was at the cutest little place and we had "high tea". It seriously made me want to have a tea party!
I did a candy buffet for the rehearsal dinner.
Here are the tables. I did a square lime green plate with a black and white polka dot napkin.
For drinks, we had old fashioned sodas in glass bottles.

The Varsity (an Atlanta institution) catered. They brought their van and you had to go up and order what you wanted.

All of my dads sisters made the trip from Memphis and Orlando, FL.
As a thank you gift, Drew and Michelle got us a cute little pottery rabbit. We named him Francisco :) Say it like Will Ferrell in "Elf".
After the rehearsal dinner, we went to a local pub for some drinks....Drew had about 5 shots!

The band at the reception was awesome....a 20 piece swing band!
My dad got them funny hats for their honeymoon in Montana
Drew and Michelle cutting their beautiful cake
the groomsmen decorated the car.....real nice guys!
Michelle's dad and my dad blowing bubbles
Joe and I took our parents to breakfast at "The Flying Biscuit". The dads were not pleased with the meat selection....turkey bacon and chicken sausage...
Of course I had to stop at Trader Joe's before heading back to Memphis.

The Past Decade!

In the past decade, I have (not necessarily in order)...

1) Met my Soul Sista, Kristy in college
2) Graduated from college
3) Got a job teaching Kindergarten
4) Fell in LOVE and got married!
5) Bought a house
6) Traveled to Disney World 2 times and Disneyland
7) Went to Greece and Thailand
8) Went to NYC (3 times), the Hamptons, Destin, Vegas, St. Martin, Atlanta, Aspen, Denver
9) Road trip down the southern California Coast
10) Took a cruise to the Southern Caribbean
11) Had multiple fun weekends with my best college girls
12) Experienced Minnesota in all it's glory...several times :)
13) Watched my mother die and my little brother get married
14) Started my cupcake business

I'm sure there were other things, but these are just the highlights.
What did you do in the past decade?

We are Heading Out...

Joe and I are headed to Savannah, GA in a few days for a nice New Year's getaway. Here is our hotel above, the good ole' Hampton Inn. In my opinion, you just cannot go wrong with a Hampton INN. They have a free, yummy breakfast, comfy beds and I love getting the points for free nights! I like this one because it's in the historic district.
On the agenda: spending time exploring the historic district
eating yummy food at the #1 ranked Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House
a nice New Year's Eve dinner at the ever popular Olde Pink House
taking a picture in front of the famous fountain in Forsythe Park
a romantic carriage ride...maybe??
a spooky ghost tour
a day trip to Tybee Island and lunch at the famous Crab Shack.

Santa Baby...

Our pretty Christmas tree all lit up :)
These are my new wreaths and I even tied the bows myself :)
My cottage Christmas tree in the guest room. I made the starfish ornaments and the button garland. The bottom of the tree is wrapped in burlap.
I made this burlap banner using inspiration for Etsy.
My Christmas cards....I love sending them and love getting them.
My new Mercury glass collection on the dining room table with my free greenery from Home Depot. It looks so pretty when the candles are lit.
My cupcake garland :)

Trim up the tree with Christmas stuff, like bingel balls and Who floo fluff!

Joe and I spent last night decorating the tree...finally! The tree has actually been up for over a week, but there was a stripe of lights out in the middle and all the stores were out of replacement bulbs. Then Joe left to go back to work...so yesterday he went to Home Depot and bought the icicle lights that actually go outside the house and wrapped them around the branches. We watched "A Christmas Story" while we decorated :)
It's always Joe's job to put on the star.
Last year for Christmas, my Aunt Penny gave me several cupcake/cake/baking ornaments and I really wanted to make a garland out of them...so I did and it looks cute!
Hanky looks on with approval....look at that sweet face...you would never think he was a naughty boy!

Yummy...Yummy...Doughnuts!

This is my favorite doughnut place in Memphis....so yummy... and the place is always hoppin'. I stopped there this week on the way to school one morning to pick up some yummies for my class. If you go late at night...past 10 I think....and the doughnuts are 1/2 off!

Holiday Party Dessert Buffet

This is a dessert buffet I did for a company's holiday party last weekend. They had mini cupcakes, chocolate covered marshmallows on sticks, mini tarts and dessert shooters.

Cool Table!!

Minnesota...COLD!!

Joe and I took a marvelous trip to Minnesota after Thanksgiving. After arriving on Friday, Joe's parents took us to dinner in St. Paul and then to see the play, Sister's Christmas Catechism. It was really funny and "Sister" even pulled Joe up on stage to be a wise man in the nativity.
Look at Gus, Joe's parents new puppy!! He is so cute but likes to bite.
Joe and I went shopping and to lunch in St. Paul. Yummy...
Of course we had to stop in at Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn for inspiration...

We even saw a white albino squirrel on the way home...fun!
On Saturday night, Peggy and Gatis had some family and friends over for a late Thanksgiving. We enjoyed visiting with Joe's grandpa and "Precious Rose".

Look at Joe's mom and her sister....don't they look alike?!
On Sunday, we went to the hanger to watch the Vikings game....I was nice and did not complain once....I just played with the puppies:)
IKEA...YAY!!
