Sally- FIVE Years old!!

Happy 5th Birthday Monkey! My greatest accomplishment {so far} has been being your mama. I feel like it was only yesterday that we were bringing you home from the hospital....not quite sure exactly what to do. Your sweet spirit has taught me so much about life. You have taught me to slow down and enjoy each day and to not take anything too seriously.

You have been lighting up the room ever since you made your entrance into the world and there is no stopping you. I know you are going to do great things! Your personality draws people in and makes everyone smile. You are the perfect combination of sweet and sassy...perfect for being a 5 year old! Your brother was born this year and I know that threw a wrench in your plan for being an only child. You have settled into the role of big sister so wonderfully. Its the sweetest thing to see you playing with your brother or saying "he is so cute, I just cant take it!". I know that its hard right now. Daddy is working all the time and Mommy has to constantly do things for the baby. I feel guilty baby girl....guilty that I'm too tired to play with you on some days, guilty that its not just the three of us anymore. I promise things will get better. Thank you for understanding and for still showing me love and giving hugs. Mommy needs them!

I love your imagination. Whether you are building a house for your My Little Pony's out of sticks in the front yard, fashioning a dress out of toilet paper for your dolls or drawing wonderful pictures, you are always creating. Please don't ever stop!

You love mermaids, fairies, elephants, My Little Pony's, watching youtube "Bideos", eating a "mix", and snuggling!!

I cant wait to see you grow each year and to see the kind of woman that you will grow into. I pray that you will be kind to everyone, stick up for the underdog and never apologize for what you believe in.

Jacob lives next door and has already asked you to marry him. You are not allowed to date until you are old and gray!!  I hope that you keep your innocence and enjoy life everyday!! You start Kindergarten in a few months and Mommy is not going to know what to do. Never let anyone make you doubt yourself. You are amazing and beautiful!

I hope you have an amazing year. I am so very proud of you and love you more than you will ever know!!

Turkey Day 2016

Turkey day started with Figgy, our elf, bringing in a turkey dressed like an Indian. I was anxious to start Elf on the Shelf so it seemed like a cute way.

I made my famous salted caramel chocolate pecan pie. It was amazing!!

I also made a turkey veggie tray. He turned out so cute!!

We woke up and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Sally was more interested than usual since its in NYC. She loves all things NYC now and keeps asking to go back. I made her a turkey cinnamon roll.

We spent the day with family. Of course I had to get a picture of my two little turkeys!!

Sally had so much fun playing with her cousins!! Happy Turkey Day!!

Figgy's Christmas Adventures

Figgy came back again this year and was up to her usual antics!! Here are some funny things she did!

Sally's Fairy Party

Hey Friends!
Having 2 kids is no joke. People who have more than 2.....I bow down. I have been so crazy just keeping up with laundry and booking Disney trips. I was laying in bed last night and feeling a little sad that I havent kept up with my blog like I used to. It has always been a little scrapbook of our lives and I feel like I have missed so much. So.....I am going to go back and blog about some things from that last year that I never got around to doing. So, just bear with me.

First up is Sally's 5th birthday party.

I ordered the cutest invitations from Sunshine Parties. I was a little disappointed that they couldn't make the fairy's hair blonde to match Sally but they still turned out really cute!

I'll be honest and tell you that when I first started planning this party, I had visions of red mushrooms and woodland creatures and by the time party day had rolled around I had changed the look into a floral and pastel thing.

I made a wreath using a simple grapevine wreath from Hobby Lobby. I hot glued some moss and fake butterflies onto it. I also made some mushrooms by painting half styrofoam balls pink and gluing on felt dots. I rolled up some white yardstick for the stem. They turned out really cute.

I took a old ton can and hot glued a sheet on moss and butterflies on it to hold forks.

Here is the food table. I love the way it turned out!!

I made these cute little doughnut hole hedgehogs and chocolate acorns using pinterest pictures for inspiration.

I ordered a simple white cake from a local bakery and added on my own fake flowers and a butterfly. I found an image of a fairy online and traced it onto silver glitter yardstick to make a topper for the cake.

This little hedgehog cheese ball turned out so cute!!

I had little tables set up for a craft. I bought little birdhouses at Michaels for $1 each and cut off the rope at the top. I did a light coat of white spray paint on the houses. Each place has a bag with pieces of moss for the roof, fake flowers, mushrooms, a butterfly and ladybug and some glass stones. I also had fairy wings and a flower crown at each place setting. The girls looked precious!!

I also hired a face painter to come and paint all the girls up like fairies. They had so much fun!!

Happy 5th Birthday my Sweet Girl!!
