Back to School With Carter's

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Carter’s. I received a complimentary gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation.

Yes. You read that correctly! I got hooked up with a Carter's gift card to go "back to school" clothes shopping for Sally. Carter's is one of my favorite kids stores so I was pretty excited to get to shop for free!

Sally started preschool this week so I knew it was time to get some back to school clothes that are not only totally cute but also durable and can stand up to all the playing she will be doing.

I am so thankful to Carter's for giving me this opportunity. Not only did I get to pick out fun, new, colorful outfits for Sally but this was also her first "big girl" shopping trip. I really talked it up so she was pretty excited to go shopping with Mommy. I told her she was going to help me pick out some cute clothes.

One thing I really love about Carter's is that the clothes are super affordable...especially with all the sales and coupons! Carter's always has a huge assortment of colorful and easy outfit sets, coordinated collections and ready for play shorts and tees for babies and kids.

Sally was so excited to go shopping!

Of course she wanted to carry the bag around!

I loved seeing all the fresh styles for fall! The colors are so

 modern and happy!

I loved seeing the Halloween stuff that they had out!

These dresses were super cute!! Perfect to wear now but they will also look precious this fall layered up with a denim jacket and boots.

Sally thought she needed some socks ;)

We got a whole bag full of stuff. Sally wanted to carry it out to the car.

Here is what we got:

A super cute red/coral dress

A precious floral dress...these seem to be so on trend right now.

I just about died when I saw this dress with the colorful and modern llama necklace...yes you read that right...they had a llama necklace!! Of course we had to get that. We love accessories in this house!

Of course we had to get pajamas. Sally needs a good night sleep before her busy days at school.

These princess ones are so, so cute!!

I also thought she probably needed these skeleton ones..perfect for Halloween!

Here she is trying on her outfits at home.

Carters has a great Labor Day Sale going on now through Sept 7. Its 50% or more off the entire store!! They also have several doorbusters: $12 for a 5 pack bodysuit, $9 for 2 pack of pants and $10 Turn Me Around sets.

Five On Friday

Happy September Friends!!
For me, September 1st signifies the start of fall. I've been burning my "leaves" candles from Bath and Body Works and dreaming of crisp nights eating chili and watching The Walking Dead. We have a Disney trip and beach trip coming up and I am so excited and ready to start the holiday season. So let's get onto five things I'm loving right now :)

{one}
As a former kindergarten teacher, I have just about every book ever made. I knew we needed a bookshelf to wrangle up some of the books in Sallys room. I found this one at a local consignment sale for $15!!! We had it painted and its good as new. I love this new addition to Sally's room and also love having all the books in one spot.

{two}
I am a HUGE walking dead fan. Read all about our trip to Atlanta here. We visited all the filming locations and it was an amazing experience for any WD fan. That being said, I was VERY excited to watch the new spin off series "Fear The Walking Dead". We are two episodes in and so far I am loving it!

{three}
Halloween is next month and I am itching to decorate. I may bust some of it out before we leave for Disney! Home Goods never disappoints me. I found all this one day and was so excited!!

I was on the hunt for this towel after a friend posted it on FB. Y'all know I LOVE Hocus Pocus. After a search of almost all the Home Goods in the Memphis area, I randomly walked into a TJ Maxx and there it was in all its glory...my Hocus Pocus kitchen towel!!

I found these pajamas for Sally at Carters

And of course I NEEDED this sign when I saw it at Hobby Lobby!

Dollar Tree has started putting out their Halloween stuff so I snatched up these paper straws. I may have bought one pack of each design.

I also may have bought my first pumpkin of the year at Kroger this week.

Don't worry....I didn't forget about Thanksgiving! Luckily Hobby Lobby knew just what I needed!

{four}
We leave for Disney in 13 days!!! I am so excited for this trip but feel like I still have so much to do!

We started our Disney countdown at day 30 and have been doing fun activities each day. Read more about that here

Our Magic Bands came in the mail....so of course I had to use decals from My Fantasy Bands to decorate them!

We also got our amazing autograph book in the mail this week. Amanda from Dixie Delights blog makes these and I haven't been able to find another that I like as much. This one has spaces for both autographs and pictures. Its actually more of a memory book. Check them out here!

{five}
Fall shopping is underway for Sally and I was so excited to score this cute dress from Smocked Auctions.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I turn 34 on Sunday!!

First Day of School Fun!!

Well summer is over and Sally started her pre-school last week. She will be going 3 days a week and let me tell you..she was SO excited!!!

A few days before school started a decorated the mantle using vintage flashcards, game pieces, books, an old globe, etc.

On the morning of the big day, I woke up early and decorated the breakfast table for her. I glued two paper leaves into a red plate....apple plate!! She thought she was such a big girl using a glass bottle and paper straw to drink her juice.

I packed her lunch in her new bento box from Sugarbooger.

Here is what I made for her: pepperoni and cheese, yogurt raisins, sesame sticks, ABC cookies (from Trader Joes), carrot sticks and snap peas, strawberries and grapes, and cheese crackers.

We made these treats for her classmates. I found the printables on Pinterest.

We also made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for her teachers.

She had a great first day and couldn't wait to go back!!!

Sally at 3 Years Old....better late than never!

Yes I know Sally is 3.5 years old now but I just realized I finished this blog post. Better late than never right?

Loves:
Elephants
My Little Ponies
Mermaids (especially Ariel!)
Animals
Playing Dress Up
Doing Art
Helping Mommy cook
Going to School

Dislikes:
When the dog licks you
Taking naps

You took swimming lessons twice this summer and also gymnastics. You know your ABC's and love to count and point out colors.

You are VERY independent and want top try everything by yourself.

We are officially potty trained. I still put you in pull ups at night (just in case). You are so funny now and want your "privacy" for about 1 minute and then call me back into the bathroom. We finally got rid of the paci (VERY hard!!) at around 3 years 4 months.

You love playing with other children....such a social little girl. You are always trying to play with kids everywhere and are sad when they are hesitant to play with you. You give hugs to everyone and are the happiest girl!

You are a BIG talker. Everyone comments on your amazing vocabulary. I swear you say words and I have no idea where you learned them.

You LOVE to snuggle with Mommy and Daddy. We are the "snuggle girls" and you and Daddy are the "snuggle bugs"!

You are sassy and its gotten you in trouble a few times. You do not like to make mommy and daddy upset but you have been testing us lately. 3 is definitely harder than 2 was.

Five On Sunday: Consignment Sales and a Fun New Bag!

{one}
I hit up Kidstown Consignment Sale last week and wanted to share my finds.

Two pairs of ruffle pants and a cute owl outfit.

Cute top/leggings set, Christmas dress and elephant pajamas

Bird dress and Christmas pajamas

Ballerina dress up outfit

I also got a few games, some sea creature toys, a few dvd and My Little Ponies.

{two}
I picked up this wooden caddy at Goodwill about a year ago. It was an ugly wood color so I spray painted it white and then made it into an art center for Sally.

{three}
Halloween is just around the corner friends. I fell in love with this countdown calendar and knew I needed to add it to our Halloween festivities. I can't wait to fill it with fun little treats for Sally to open each day leading up to the big day.

{four}
I got some sad news from a family member yesterday so please keep our family in your prayers. I listened to my favorite hymn about 5 times this morning.

{five}
I have been looking for the perfect black and white striped bag and I finally found it  here

I also ordered the cutest elephant charm from Thailand to hang on it.

Hope everyone has a great week. Our local schools start tomorrow and I am once again reminded how blessed I am to be able to stay home with my girl another year.
