30a Beach Trip

Joe had five days where he was off last week so we packed up and headed to the beach! My godmother lives on 30a so we had a free place to stay.

Of course we had to stop here for lunch...tradition!

We go there in the late afternoon but knew we needed to at least let Sally look at the beach. Of course she got soaking wet (and I did too!).

The next day we were at the beach all day. The weather was PERFECT and the water was the prettiest I have ever seen it. There was hardly anyone at our beach.

Sally had so much fun playing in the sand and splashing in the water. Although she has already been to the beach 6 times, its fun to see her reaction each time. She is my little sea turtle...no fear of the water.

Joe had fun in the waves like usual and I even got a few moments to read my magazine.

I somehow forgot to apply sunscreen the first day and got totally fried...not good! For lunch we picked up peel and eat shrimp from our local market.

Each day was the same...wake up...go to the beach until late afternoon, come back and take showers and eat lunch and then nap. After nap we would wake up and get ready for dinner. We ate dinner out every night and tried to hit up a lot of our favorite spots.

We spent our days taking walks to the little lake that feeds into the ocean, catching crabs, watching dolphins in the water and making friends with the families next to us. It was so peaceful :)

We tried a new place for dinner one night..The Surf Hut. The location was fabulous and the food was good. Try it!

We took my godmother out with us and I loved our time together.

One night we even went and got ice cream. Sally kept asking us...wonder where she gets her sweet tooth from?

One day we tried stand up paddle boarding. It looks like it would be so easy...and maybe it would be on a lake, but in an ocean with waves going under the board it was hard. I sat on my knees and paddled out (that part was easy) but it was hard to stand up with the waves. I was especially scared to fall off since sharks had been spotted earlier in the day. It was rush though ;) I would love to try it again when the water is a little more calm. It was a great workout!

All in all, it was a fabulous and stress free trip...and we will be back soon!

Nashville Girls Weekend

Two weekends ago, I headed up to Nashville to visit my Bestie (aka Sister Kristy). No she's not really my sister but may as well be :) We had been planning this trip for a few months and to say I was excited would be a bit of an understatement.

I got there late afternoon on a Friday and we spent some time at her house chatting and then headed out to dinner to the cutest place called Circa in Thompsons Station.

I had the BBQ Shrimp and a salad. It was delish!

We went to bed early since we knew Saturday would be a long day...we had big plans! First we hit up the Nashville Flea Market. I'll just let the pictures do the talking. It was fabulous as always!!

After the flea market we decided to grab lunch at Hattie B's Hot Chicken. Being a Memphis girl, I love Gus's...but this place was amazing!! There was a line out the door. The atmosphere was fun and trendy and the food was so yummy! If you are in the Nashville area, please try it!

After lunch, Kristy took me to McKays used books. They have everything...books, cd's, dvd's....so much to look at. Everything is so organized but its important that you come with a list. I left with a bag full of stuff :)

Then we went over to the Green Hills area and went to Trader Joes. Since we STILL don't have them in Memphis, its a must for me on each trip to Nashville. We had a hotel room for the night (Thanks to Joe's points!) so we went and checked in and got settled in the room and then later went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory in Cool Springs.

On Sunday we were up bright and early and ready to take on the Country Living Fair! I was so excited to attend as I have wanted to for the last few years. Like I said, we had this trip planned for a few months and then I found out the Country Living Fair was the same weekend so I knew we had to go. I was lucky and won passes off Instagram.

It was a chilly and cloudy day but we made the most of it. Once again, I will let the pictures do the talking.

Thoughts on it. I am glad we went. There were a lot of really neat things. There was also some "country" junk and too much jewelry.

Here is what I came home with. Not too much but I was happy :)

And my trader joes stuff :)

I was sad to see the weekend end. Its just good for my soul to step away from mother/wife duties and just have some girl time :)

Mid Week Randoms :)

{one}
I have really enjoyed my workout sessions with these ladies! I feel stronger and have been sleeping a lot better ;)

{two}
Speaking of workouts, I got a new water bottle in my Easter basket and added the cutest decal from Simply Darling on etsy. She doesn't have the decals listed but she will set up a listing for you.

{three}
I was so excited to be chosen to get the latest VoxBox from Influenster. Like always, it was filled with amazing samples of the newest products to try. I really love getting these. If you aren't signed up yet, go to Influenster and sign up so you will get picked for a future box.

{four}
I feel super content and happy with life right now. We just got back from the beach and I feel so refreshed and ready to take on the world.

{five}
 For you local girls, I am hosting a paint party at my house on June 7. Its $25 and a lady is coming to instruct us on how to make these cute door signs. I have 6 spots left so let me know if you want to come :)
